- Brandi SmithI keep getting calls from some outfit claiming to be OneMain, I do not have nor have I ever had an account with them, never even heard of them. They just started calling last week asking for some lady I never heard of. Told them they have called wrong person, they wanted my name and social. Not happening. Asked them to stop calling but again today they called so far 3 times and each time I told them they have wrong person and not to call. I am writing a cease and desist letter and if that doesn't stop the calls I am taking them to court for harassment. Geez.

- Bennie Martinez| 1 replyThis company calls and refuses to stop. My wife and I no longer answer our telephone because they constantly call from early in the morning to late at night asking for someone we never heard of. They call from this number and about 15-20 more so blocking them has not worked, their calls from numbers we blocked still get thru. as I am posting this they are calling again.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter. If after receipt they keep calling you can then sue them and make them pay you for the harassment. You will probably have to sue for TCPA violations which should net you at least $500 per call.
You can also file complaints at the following Federal and State Agencies. Don't wait and don't keep putting up with the calls. You need to be proactive about this, not reactive or apathetic.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I do not ow money to anyone. I never hear about this firm before but they insist that I need to send money to them. I asked for them to send me proof of this debt. Thay say I already was sent proof. They have the wrong person. I am engaging an attorney. I think that the last person with my mobile number skipped out on debt thay owe.

- Chris CagleStarted getting calls from One Main last week blowing up my mobile. I never heard of the person they are asking for and I have my number more than 10 years. Seems like something could be done to make companies stop calling multiple times per day without having to send them certified mail asking them to stop or threatening legal action. My time is worth $100 an hour and if I have to take time out from my business and lose revenue I expect to be reimbursed. I have spoken with others who have noticed new tactics from collection companies that harangue innocent people who have similar names or a telephone number that once belonged to some other person. I understand they want their money but bothering innocent people is not going to get them paid. If they call one more time I am filing a lawsuit.

- Mike RiveraNever get a loan with these people, if you use your friends as a contact they will hound them to death. My cousin got behind with them because he lost his job and we get called 7-8 times a day because they cannot get in touch with him. Neither can we, he is sleeping in his truck. I am contacting a lawyer next week.

- Steve StahlCalling my number numerous times a day have no idea why answered today and seems like they are phishing or some kind of scammers. Wanted my name a social security number. Not falling for that trick. One of the oldest tricks in the book criminals use to steal peoples ID's. I never heard of them and they can get lost. I never give out any personal info to unknown callers.

- Nick Amuso| 1 replyStarted getting calls from this company over a disputed debt. They claim my GF still owes them $72. She has receipts for all payments and they were never late. These people call 7 days a week numerous times a day, they even called today which is a holiday. Never borrow money from this company, they have been nothing but a major pain in the __ss.
