888-926-7397

This number is one I called after wife click on a bogus story that some actor hung himself. The computer locked up and a loud high pitch tone was included. A big white box indicating it was from Microsoft stated that the computer was infected with a Trojan worm and you needed to call 888-926-7397. When I did call,  the person answered with Indian accent with a lot of voices in the background at that point I hung up. He call back 3 times hanging up right away.

Clicked on something on facebook and it came up with call this number right away.  I called the number and thinking it was legit, I allowed the person to take over my cursor.  He was showing me all that my computer was infected with and then got into my notepad and wrote down what the service was going to do for me.  He started quoting me prices for the service, and in the meantime I called my nephew who is a computer geek.  He told me it was a scam and I wrote a message to this person and asked if it was a scam.  My nephew told me to shut the computer off, and I hung up on the caller.  He called and I wouldn't pick it up and he sent me a message that he was calling and I was to pick up.  When I asked if it was a scam, he told me that my computer was severely infected but it was my "compulsion" to not use the service.  My nephew suggested that I do a scan and I did.  There was no viruses and that it checked over 243,000 things.  The caller said I had no firewall, but my nephew said I did.  I gave him no personal information at all.

Similar story as above. They are Scammers/Hackers. Continued to harass me after I realized the number I had called was a scam.
