- Wildtoast| 3 repliesGot a call from the 1-888-932-7007. It is the Note to Neighbors program from the American Cancer society. I called up the other number they gave me when I called that number back. 1-866-435-7227. The lady was really nice, took down my number and name and told me it would be less than 48 hours to be removed from the computer dialing the numbers.
I will post here again if I continue to receive the calls.- Caller: American Cancer Society

- 1-888-932-7007I think it's absolutely ludicrous that an agency such as the American Cancer Society calls 10-15 times, yet never leaves a message on voicemail making their pitch, and then leave you alone to do what you choose to do. I don't care who they are, or who they're representing, this is BS.

- HBHave received MULTIPLE calls from this number. The only reason I know it's from this number is cuz I've been home and heard the phone ring, but could not get to it in time to answer, so I've PAID to do a *69 search and it comes back as this number. Now, I've been on the local AND federal do not call list for at least 7 years, and I am truly offended about this caller especially since I've actually spoken with the caller a few weeks ago when they caught me available to take the call, and I insisted that they remove me from their call list.
- mlbThey call almost everyday, starting at 8:15a.m. I don't answer and they don't leave a message.
- Get Thee Behind Me, Telemarketers! As others have pointed out, this is most likely the Cancer Society. That's what you "get" for giving them a voluntary donation--they come back to you and try to guilt you into giving them more, more, more.
What I resent is the "UNAVAILABLE" listing on the caller ID. It's smacks of sneakiness followed by high pressure guilt/sales tactics. That sort of thing makes me dig in my heels and tell them NO, NO, NO--and not a dime more until they STOP calling.
Good cause, sure--but let ME decide when I want to donate. Stop bugging me! They ought to allow people to opt out of this solititation crap on the donation form--a "no calls" checkoff!- Call type: Non-profit organization
- JoI have recieved 14 calls from 8/12 to 8/23. There is never a message. In fact they called me at 11:10 am this morning. (8/23/09)
- ValThey asked for me by my first name, then asked to speak to "the Mr."...said they were from the Western United States Cancer Society. How do I stop these calls? We donate through our local Cancer Walk organization.

- LisThanks Wildtoast from your Aug. 13th post. I just called the 1-866-435-7227 to be removed from the call list. It says right on the message that it is the notes to neighbors campaign. The gentleman was very nice and said it normally takes 30 days to be removed from the list, but he would try to expedite the process and make it effective sooner. He also said that they don't make the calls, it is done by computer and he apologized.
I have received constant calls everyday, sometimes 2x a day from this number and they never leave a message. I am hoping this takes care of it.- Caller: American Cancer Society
- TK| 1 reply888 932 7007 (American Cancer Society) calls me everyday. Do they have a good intention? I doubt it. I tried to add the number to my Call Screening (Call Reject) of Comcast in Massachusetts. I got an error message: the number was incorrect. I call them but again the number was in correct. Anybody, please help me to figure out this problem. Thanks.

- TK replies to TKI just called the 1-866-435-7227 to be removed from the call list as mentioned on Wildtoast's Aug. 13th post. I hope it works. Thanks!
- J T| 1 replyWhen they first called they said they were calling for the Cancer Society. They asked me to volunteer and I told them I did not want to because the last time I did something like this it did not work out for anyone.I sent out letters to my neighbors which were given to me I. just had to buy postage and mail them out.Hopefully when my neighbors received them they would make a donation, send it back to me and then I would send all the donations back to the CHARITY. Only one of my neighbors donated I felt awful and not one of the other neighbors brought it up when we would talk. The Cancer Society wanted me to do the same thing,so I declined. That didn't matter though they call me every day and early evening. Then they wonder why people get upset.Plus I can't give to every charity that calls times are tough for many of us.
So today I decided to call them back and after a recorded message,I was asked if I wanted my number removed?I typed in my number and was told it can take up to thirty days for it to be removed. We shall see.- Caller: Cancer Society

- JOHNThis number, 888 932 7007, and another number, both labeled "service" on the caller i.d., called us 47 times in the past 10 days. If you call 1-866-435-7227 as instructed by reports filed under this number on the internet (found by googling the number), the people who answer say they will take you off their computer calling list within 48 hours. They say they know the phone hangs up even if you answer. They apologize. They say there must be something wrong with the computer. The second number, 866 349 0780, also labeled 'service,' is five times worse with regard to frequency of calls.

- AlI have gotten numerous calls from this number and my Caller ID shows Toll Free Call. I've never answered it and from the posts I see here, it is the Cancer Society, therefore, I am sure it is Lance Armstrong building up his personal stash. Please, don't anyone give him any money since he steals enough from the Armstrong Foundation to finance his girlfriends on his nightly bar-hopping sprees on the strip here in Austin, Texas.
- PUTTPUTTThey have called me 13 times in the last 2 weeks. You'd think after 4 or 5 times they'd get the hint.
- Princess #1I haven't kept count of how many times this number has called my home. I have answered on occasion in hopes to tell whoever is calling to take me off their calling list. When I do answer and wait it goes to a dial tone. Evidently whoever is calling has figured out a way around the "do not call" list. I have wondered if these calls are coming from off shore.
- KraziKat replies to WildtoastThank you so much for your post! I called the number you listed & asked to be removed from their internal list. I told the woman that what they were doing was illegal and harassment since I was on every "do not call" list available. She advised me that non-profits & charities are EXEMPT from those lists. In other words, it is totally legal for them to harass us and not be bound by the law!!! My recommendation: call the number and asked to be removed from their internal list. Thanks for your post!
- BobCalls every day does not leave a message.
- Anonymous replies to WildtoastThank you! I called the number and they took me off all their lists. They said it could take up to 30 days to stop receiving the calls (???), however, he was going to expedite the requests to 48 hours, well see..
