- LarryCitibank--if you got a check from them for interest refund, they are calling to ask you to cash it. I got one and I cashed it. You don't have to talk to them to cash your check, but some people think the checks are a scam but they are not.

- M.M.Citibank - but was has me mad is that Citibank did not CALL my cell... they completely bypassed calling me and left message directly on VM. I have enough issue with spammers doing this but c'mon... Citibank too??

- samcalled again and did not leave a message

- Claudia| 1 replyI received a check and cashed it. What I did not like is the caller never identifies themselves as Citibank. I think this is a promo call to sell you another card. I paid off my card and I believe they want me to start using them again. I hope there is no fallout for cashing that check.
- Caller: Citibank
- DeweyCalled and talked about a check from Citibank due to too high of interest. I NEVER carry a balance so this would not apply to me.

- tazztunesIt is Citibank. They do identify themselves but the recording doesn't stop and allow for the vm message. You hear it if you answer. I did cash my check so I am not sure why they are still calling me.

- New caney| 6 repliesWhy would a credit card company send a check for interest rate paid, out of the blue? I’m thinking if you cash the check there’s a credit card with that balance issued in your name. Anyways, when they called me they did not say Citicard...just City.

Heres a little info that might be helpful in explaining that:

You should always check with the bank to be sure it wasn't a fake one from a scammer who will try to collect on it as an error or trick you into giving them personal information.
It might not have been the bank calling.Quote:when they called me they did not say Citicard...just City.
Never trust a caller to be who they claim, always call from an official number to verify if they did. - Just Some Dude replies to New caney| 4 replies> Anyways, when they called me they did not say Citicard...just City.
To be fair, Citi is the name of the company. That doesn't mean you should trust the caller or anything, but that part's not that odd. - BigA replies to Just Some Dude| 3 repliesNo, it is CitiBank not just Citi.
- Lisa replies to BigA| 2 repliesIt is Citi. Look it up. It's on their letterhead and everything.
- MikeHuntleton replies to LisaMaybe before you try correcting someone, you should read the entire conversation.
They might use "Citi" in logos, correspondence or reference to the parent Corp., but the company NAME is CitiBank.Quote:Just Some Dude: Citi is the name of the company
BigA: No, it is CitiBank not just Citi.Quote:Citibank is the consumer division of financial services multinational Citigroup Inc. or Citi (stylized as citi). Citigroup owns Citicorp, the holding company for Citibank. - BigA replies to LisaLiar.
- MichaelCitibank says this is not their phone number. They say it is a third party.

- sweet lou| 1 replyI did not receive a call but I received latter with red line on the bottom of the envelope important, the latter informed me that was check was mailed to me and the time it's 180 days to cash it , I look at the flairs send from the Bank , I did Cash and on problem so far. Probably that money was found in the Bank account from the over charged, because the Bank can over charge you on pen's and you don't feel it , with the seventh year it's added,
