Asked me a bunch of questions to verify who I was and where I lived. Said owed a credit card (which I did not) and that it was going to be filled with the county court. Wanted to let me know in case I wanted to settle before hand.
Never gave me coherent name of firm, or balance due on card or account number on credit card. I asked for written letter to be mailed. He suggested email, I never got the email. Sounds like a fishing trip to me, time will tell.

Getting a call from UNKNOWN NUMBER.Saying that there was a "Complaint against me",and to call them back with in 24hrs.Leaving a phone # and a case # as well. And saying they will proceed with out me.?But I've been divorced for over 2 years now. From what I've heard from my children that my x-husband has used my info to open pay day loans he never intended to pay back?Maybe. But I've paid all my debt off soon after my divorce. If there happened to be some thing I've missed,my Attorney said THEY (COLLECTOR'S) ONLY HAVE ABOUT 7 YEARS TO TRY COLLECT ANY DEBT.TRY DIP,DODGE,DUCK,ANY BOTTOM DWELLING SKUMS THAT BUY ANY COLLECTIONS OFF FOR ¢ ON A DOLLAR.THEY JUST DON'T HAVE ANY THING ELSE TO DO.HOPE THIS HELPS.I'VE PAID A PRETY PENNY FOR PAYING OFF MY DEBT'S.AND NOW MY CREDIT SCORE IS SOME WERE IN THE 800'S.IT FEELS GOOD FOR A CHANGE.BUT IT WAS A HARD LESSON LEARNED.TAKE CARE.LIVE HAPPY.

This is a phishing scam. They called and told me I would be dragged to court to settle a debt I never had. I am an expert on my credit report. My score is around 700 and I have nothing negative. They literally made up debt to try and get my bank info. Beware, doin't call back - it is not a real company.

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

I keep getting calls from this Ms. Smith with a case number. The thing is she says she is calling in an attempt to reach my brother. I haven't called them back and I never answer because it comes up as restricted.

Keep calling me and all my immediate family members. I don't know how they got a hold of all their phone numbers.  Keeps saying similar to whats been said before. They also leave voicemails on all of my immediate family members' phone numbers stating that if I do not contact them within 24 hours, that they will be forced to proceed without my consent. I have not received any written notice. I would think if they can find out all of my family's phone numbers, they would have my address. Does anyone have an address to which I can send a "Cease and Desist" letter?

Same story... Ms. Smith leaves message with no company name, asking for someone other than me. Says there has been a complaint filed against me and to reference a case number when I call back. She gives no identifying details, asks for the wrong person, and provides no official or relevant information. Has left 3 messages now from an Unknown number. Blocking.

I too received a blocked call and after getting 2 i decided to call in, the company is a real company, the restrcivted number they explained to me was because the call center is not able to see the private account info which is why they give you a 888 number on the message to call, that person was able to discuss in detail all my account information, they helped me clear up my delinquent account for less than what i owed. they are a real company and i would recomment you call the 888 number and let them explain how they can help.

Did they MAIL you proof of this debt or did they just tell you over the phone? By law, they MUST mail you proof of the debt so you may dispute it if you don't believe you owe it.
If you simply paid someone who claimed over the phone that you owed money, you paid a scammer and have set yourself up for more calls of this nature.
NEVER pay someone over the phone for a debt. INSIST they mail you (that's by US Mail) a validation of debt. If they refuse, say they already did, or say you'll receive that AFTER you pay them you know it's a scam.

By the way, what is the legal name and address of this "real company"? PO boxes do not count as actual addresses.

No one here says to not pay LEGITIMATE debts. What we tell people is to obtain proof via US Mail that you actually do owe the debt the caller is claiming you owe. You didn't say, however, if the caller mailed the information to you BEFORE you paid or after. If you paid before they proved you owed the debt, you were quite likely scammed and have opened yourself up to being contacted by scammers again. ALWAYS demand proof of debt be mailed to you BEFORE you pay anyone.
I notice two things about your reply to my posts: One, you didn't tell us the legal name and valid address of this company you paid and two, your grasp of the English language went way downhill compared to your first post.

Epic Fail Shill! Not only are you not the same poster as above, but your lies are even much more obvious!  SMH.. why you silly shills attempt this kind of thing  knowing your going to fail here .. oh well, gives us all a good laugh!
You should go back to school and finish learning how to read & write. Maybe then you might have a chance to get a real legitimate job instead of looking for that 6x6 prison cell.

Poor drake never finished junior high school, and still lives with his mommy.  He tells his friends that he still lives with his mommy, because he is helping her out.  It must be embarrassing that you still sleep in the same room you did when you were a child.  No education means poor job prospects, so you have resorted to being a shill for a criminal enterprise.  Sites like this must be cutting into your ill gotten gains.  Time to take your garbage vehicle to a title pawn shop, ha ha.

Well I can see why you couldn't pay.  You are basically illiterate and couldn't get a job.  Guess you should have paid attention in school instead of sleeping/ drinking/ drugging.
