I got a text from this number (the 54 on the end actually showed as part of the number. It said Free Verizon Wireless Message:...
I called Verizon and they said it did not come from them.
It was for $5/month email and gave a 4 digit number to text back for download instructions.
Beware!

Mine was from 900-070-0038 87 referring to a link on verizonwireless that does not exist.  Says to replay with x.  I'm not going to do that to a 900 number

Same here. Obviously a scam.

Rec'd this number on my cell phone, selling a text MSG service.

Folks, the scammers have sent a shill here to try to convince you that you should answer this message.  First, 900 area codes are typically pay by minute (as in phone sex chat lines).  No phone number can start with a 0 in the prefix in the North American Numbering Plan so you can plainly see this is a spoofed number and does not really belong to Verizon.
