It’s definitely a scam, received a voicemail saying that class action lawsuit will be filed if I don’t call them back and give them my S.S information. Little did they know they called a former FBI agent. DO NOT give anyone your sensitive information over the phone until you have all of the facts!

I have been receiving messages from this number for months now but never listened to them until now. Anyone leaving a message saying a debt under your name and social security number say they dont know who you are. Its a scam!! I replied"How about I set you up with a bill from the hospital after I smash your face with a baseball bat!!!"

Same as everyone else. No one could file a Class Action Lawsuit against you! A class action lawsuit is defined as a procedural device that permits one or more plaintiffs to file and prosecute a lawsuit on behalf of a larger group, or "class". Think like, KIA, Johnson and Johnson, etc.

    Listen to message

The vague scare tactic message is designed to panic a victim into calling back.

Most debt collectors will use a certain amount of pressure to convince you to pay the debt. After all, they often don't get paid unless you pay. Be suspicious of a debt collector who uses an unusual amount of pressure to get you to pay immediately, particularly if they also use scare tactics to get you to pay right away. For example, a debt collector is scamming you if it :
    • threatens you with a lawsuit and tells that you can avoid the lawsuit by paying right away
    • Says a Process Server  or Courier is coming with papers to sign
    • Threatens to call / go to your place of employment
    • Insists you have been notified, served or are non-compliant via phone message(s)
    • Refuses to give a company name or verifiable Contact source
    • Refuses to send proof of debt via US mail

A sure sign of a debt collection scam is a collector that wants to you to pay via wire transfer or another method that can't be traced. If the payment method can't be traced, you'll have a harder time getting the authorities involved.

If the creditor sounds completely foreign, or you know you never had an account with that business, there's a chance it's a scam. Never pay a collection you don't recognize. You have the right to request written proof of the debt from the debt collector before you send payment.

Collection Debt scammer. This business is not USA based and therefore outside the reach of Federal prosecution. Do not respond unless you enjoy wasting your valuable time. If you feel you may have an outstanding loan, any legitimate collection agency must provide, upon request,  a copy of the contract or agreement you signed with the lender. Until you receive that copy, do not send any money. Often lenders will write off uncollectable debts and sell your information to a series of collection companies... any business that threatens legal action is a scammer, and if any business is unable to provide a copy of your contract, do not pay them. If you do, you open yourself up to another collection agency, that does have that loan agreement,  coming after you...and you will have to pay it, again.

Actually, "John", the second poster, wrote that the caller left a voicemail that stated:
    John wrote:
...that class action lawsuit will be filed if I don’t call them back and give them my S.S information...
If "John" accurately relayed what was in his message (no one else has mentioned that phrase), then the scammers that called him do not appear to know how the US legal system works, and it shows that they are very possibly foreign and/or very stupid.
