IRS impersonator scam. They usually get your name and phone number off a job resume you post publicly. They try the intimidation tactics by telling you there is a warrant for your arrest for tax fraud and that they can stop prosecuting you if you send them money through a prepaid debit card or Western Union. Incredibly stupid scammers, cannot believe anyone would fall for such a poorly conceived scam.

Called 2 times today (4/4/2016), at 10:29AM and again at 2:46PM, claiming she is Susan (no last name) calling from the Federal Investigation Department (not FBI) regarding a case which has been file against me.  I sent both calls to VM and both voicemail ended at exactly 0m54s.  So I know it's a recording.

Also, she used the wrong First Name, I figure if it's a federal place, they would know my name.

Same phone numbers and same scam.  I reported it to the local police department and they took down the phone numbers but warned that the numbers would probably be deactivated by tomorrow.

I was scared until they started talking about money and if I had money to pay the debt (that I was never notified of).  When I started researching the number online, I confronted them about the scam and they hung up.

Indeed, same phone number, same scam.  My girlfriend got the call and was horrified that she would have to pay all that money...and almost DID!  Thank God I found out about it in time and stopped her.  Jeez, I'd love to wring those people's necks...

Received this phone call yesterday, did not pick up.  They left a voice message that he's a Federal Investigation Department, there's a case file under my name...yida..yida... Phone number listed as Jacksonville, FL (904) 365-7112
I received many calls like this from the past year.  It's scam for sure.
