I keep receiving calls from this # 1+904+402+9843. They leave messages on this phone treating to have a sheriff going to pick up someone & that I need to contact this number & ask for Samson Brown that's he's a deputy sheriff.  The person leaving the message said his name is deputy Samual Baxter.  This person is saying they work for the Mississippi state Credit Bureau department. I have been constantly hassed. I have a bad heart & I need whoever this is calling look for someone bc I have no clue as to what they are talking about.

A person from 904-402-9843 called by work number and cell number saying that they were from FDIC.

Anyway, the person, James Brown, said that I had a 300 dollar loan out that was directly deposited into my account in Dec 2012 and that I owed 401 dollars. However I have online banking and told that was looking at my account as we were speaking and see nothing for the amount. This is when the representative transferred me to his so called chief officer Jeff Hoffman. This man began calling me irate and non-compliant and told me that I was going to find myself behind bars if I didn't pay them. I told them I would have to call them back to further investigate their accusations. He continued to tell me that I had 30 minutes or he was going to submit a warrant for my arrest.

So I looked up FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) online and called their customer service number. FYI: FDIC is a federal insurance corporation for banks. They don't deal with personal accounts. The representative informed me that my situation was from a scam artist doing what is call "Phishing". She gave me the number to the Federal Trade Department to file a complaint.

I received a telephone call from the phone (904)-402-9843 man stating that he works for a fraudulent department and he is officer Mark. States that he had a complaint against my name and 3 fraudulent claims were filed with someone using my social security number and that if I did not call him back he would have no choice but turn the file over to the court house on Monday and then I am to go there and appear for legal charges and good luck was his last words. I have no idea who this is or how they got a social security number attach to me. I file a report with the Federal Trade Commission because this number keeps calling my cell.

My husband just came in to inform me that there was a message on his cell phone which happens to be his work # saying that there was a federal complaint against me and that i needed to go turn myself in and if i didn't that they would come to my place of business and arrest me there. He identified himself as Deputy Watson from the Texas State Police Department or TSPD and that I would have to call 904-402-9843 and speak to speak to Officer Jay Clark. He stated that I had two choices, go turn myself in to him at my local police department, or call Officer Clark at that # and resolve the matter. I called the police dept. and spoke to an officer who informed me that he knows of no TSPD and it was probably a scam. Well Deputy, I'm about to put your ass on blast!!!!!!!!!

It's a scam - next time they call tell them that you've reported the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General, and do so.  Also say that the FBI is monitoring and recording all calls they make to you - this may get them to back off calling you, at least for a while.  You could block their number, or ask your phone company to do so, however, they'll probably call from other numbers too.

Not to mention, that no one is given a heads up that they'll be arrested.  They're scammers trying to scare people into paying bogus debts.  Report the call to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  If they call back, you or your husband can tell them that all calls they make to you are being recorded and monitored by the FBI.

Unless you're able to block their numbers, they'll keep calling.  One thing that might help is making sure that the scammers know you're recording their calls to you every single time you call.  Scammers do not like to be recorded.  However, if they're calling from outside of the US, that might not work, in which case, tell them that the FBI is monitoring and tracing all calls they make to you.

These are scammers, probably calling from outside of the US.  Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  When the scammer calls back, tell him that you've reported him and that the FBI is monitoring and tracing all calls he makes to you.  That may get him to back off some.  Other than this, you're going to have to print off this forum thread and give it to your HR Dept and/or manager to let them know you're a victim of harassment by scammers.

GOOD! Hope he DOES file a complaint and TRY to get an arrest warrant signed by a judge!  ROFLMAO!  I'm SURE the police and the judge would be MORE than happy discussing it with him!
Oh gosh! my sides are aching from laughing so hard as I'm reading this ridiculous BS these people are spewing from their mouths.
Sadly, I'm sure some people end up falling for it ... the old time chain-gangs on bread and water should be brought back for these types of callers.  "Idle hands and idle mind are the Devil's workshop" -- these swindlers are living proof that they need to keep their hands and body busy doing something constructive!
