I just received a call from this number, Debt Mediators and spoke with Jack Johnson who informed me they were trying to deliver a package to my work and it came back. He said they were calling because I owe a payday loan company, MyCashNow.com $750 from 4 years ago. He couldn't even tell me the date. He said I could settle for $276. I told him no, do not owe it and not paying  it.  I am so tired of calls like this. I have blocked his number on my phone.

This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.  Please note that process servers do not ever call ahead.  That way you can’t dodge them.

I have been getting calls from this same Florida number Debt Mediation Services PO box 225 Jacksonville, Fl.  After several unanswered calls they finally left a message stating that they had received some "returned" items and that I needed to contact them.  I called and was immediately transferred to a "Jack Johnson".  He stated that I owed a payday loan of $1000 from a company called Cash Advance (never heard of them before) and I was subject to wage garnishment at this point and I needed to satisfy this debt. He never gave me any details about this debt such as when the loan was taken out, the state where it was taken out nothing about the creditor that supposedly hired them, NOTHING!!!! He had bits and pieces of my personal info such as an email address from a job that I haven't worked at in 8 years, the name of an employer that I haven't worked for since 2013 and the last 4 digits of my social security number but had my current address.  It sounded really suspicious.  If someone is going to garnish your wages it just happens through the court.  No one calls to inform you.  He tried to get me to make payment arrangements on a lesser amount of $350 and asked me how would I like to secure the arrangement credit or debit card?  I quickly informed him that I was not going to give him any of my banking info for something that I haven't received "formal" notice about.  I asked him to send me something in writing regarding this "supposed" debt.  He sent me an email stating the payment arrangement that we discussed but no where in the letter did it have any of the creditors information. I have to admit it did shock me at first because no one wants to be garnished for any reason but I wasn't born yesterday.  Glad I took the time to research them and read some of the post on this site about them.

I got a call from this number saying they needed me to update my address because they were trying to serve a packet about a debt. They said it was a payday loan, I have no payday loans when O asked the date it was opened and the original loan provider he got very upset and said that I could just go to court then hung up. I called back asked the same questions was told they didn't have that info then he hung up. I tried to call back but they blocked me. I wish I could report them to the cops I hate they're trying to scare people.

Blocked and reported the number. Robo called me three times. Answered the 3rd time and told him to take me off his list. He said no, and when I said I'd get a lawyer involved, replied that he was "tring to do something nice for me". Wow. What a piece of [***].

Got a VM saying they were filing legal documents to garnish my wages.  I called back they had my name, SSN, and former address.  Said I owed a pay day loan sometime between 2008 and 2013 that I never took out.  Said it had been sent to collections since 2013.  The woman, Natalie Banks, said they would settle for $300 wouldn't give me any information on the company that I owed money to, said it was one of 75 possible companies.  Wouldn't send me any information or documentation, I asked to speak to a supervisor and a very abrasive [***] got on the phone and told me they were going to garnish my measley wages and i was in no position to ask for documentation then screamed he would see me in court on the phone.  TOTAL SCAM, but very scary they had my SSN!

This lady called from Debt Mediation Services in Florida telling me I owed $800 from a payday loan. She had my current address and told me if I did not pay her company would have to garnish my check. When I asked her if she could send me some information regarding the loan, she never answered the question. She just continued to tell be that they would start the garnishment process. When I started to ask too many questions, she said her boss lowered the amount to only $400. I figured it was a scam and told her I would call her back. I did some research on the company and found out it was a scam. Never pay people if they are not willing to send information about a past debt.

I got a call from the same people today. I requested documentation as well. They couldn't provide. Said I had a payday loan from 2012 and owed 2000$. I've NEVER taken a payday loan. Told me they would settle for 200$. I told them once again I needed documentation. They then took my settlement down to 100$. I requested the same info, and these mf went down to 75$. That will take whatever they can. I told them to kiss my entire black [***] and to find another sucks!

I had someone call me continually from this number stating they were a mediator attempting to collect a debt before the company took legal action. They called themselves Debt Mediation. When I asked the initial person and their "supervisor" for employee identification or business number, no one could/would provide. They attempted to scam me out of money for a debt that I don't owe, for a service that is illegal and unavailable in my state. Don't answer this number, and if you do, do not be scared into giving them ANY personal information or payment!

I received a call st my work number from Nicole Green, she said I had a 1000 dollar debt. I said I have no debts everything paid off. She said I opened a pay day loan . I said no I did not, she said I opened it 2013 in the state of KY I told her I left there in 2005, never took out a loan. She told me that I did and they had a lien on my car, were going to garnish my wages. I said well who signed for the loan. She says I did , I said no way possible. She said I did it on line. I continued to ask her questions. It is a total scam! I told her that my car was paid off , no Lein and I told her I was the account/bookkeeper and I would have to process the paperwork for garnishments, she hung up then I kept calling she sent me to voicemail then blocked me! Lol!

My husband received a phone call from 904.559.1620. Readers beware! Robert Thompson was the agent requesting admittance to a debt from "Ace Cash" in 2013 in the sum of 252$ or so. Weve never used this service...ever. The same things occurred during this call as the previous posts. An argument ensued between my husband and i because the caller asked my husband to 'verify' his home information and all. I'm livid in the back ground telling him to hang up bc the caller was speaking so fast he didn't allow us time to ask questions. The caller refused to provide dates of the loan, and any other merchant info. He did not want to tell us ANYTHING.Long story short they change their numbers and names but the SCAM Is still the same. Be careful and financial literacy is critical.
