I just received a message from this "Account Services" and just like Pied Piper, the msg states they will proceed with wage garnishment under my name and SSN.  Only they call from (650) 254-9958 but say to call back at (650) 645-9664.  They do not identify themselves nor do they ask for the specific person they are calling for, just a generic msg "Due to failing to pay your past due charge...blah blah blah".  Fairly certain its a scam, because even looking up the CA Account Services site - the area code isn't even the same.

This is the message they left:

If you want to resolve this matter without any further action, contact our office directly at area code 650-645-9664. Thank you. Bye.

If they called from 650-254-9958 & want you to call back @ 650-645-9664, why are you in this thread which is clearly not for either of those phone numbers?

Most likely the same as me, from a search of the call back number. The message is the same and links this number to the same callers.

Same! They have called me 3 times about a supposed payday loan. They sounded so legitimate I actually called the payday loan company who stated they had no record of me in case someone had taken one out in my name. The dude was like "UM NO, this is a scam."

I'm surprised that you went to all that trouble when you didn't have to.
