i like many others on this page received a letter in the mail today. company letter head says Providence Inc. 7209 Haselley Rd, Victoria, BC, V9M 5P8...Phone # 1-905-598-1023..dated march 17th 2011 and i received it today on march 29th 2011. The claim number listed is WG27630317..titled sweepstakes claim notification.... basically the letter states that there were some unsuccessful attempts to contact me regarding my consumer rewards program winnings. according to the commission policy my prize was forwarded to the clearing house for disbursement. my lump sum payout is $9.700.00 in US dollars. it says to contact Keith Martins at 1-905-598-1023 and is signed by H. Barrone (Henry Barrone), promotional manager.

BEWARE TO ALL...THIS IS A SCAM..WHILE WE ALL ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH FINANCES DUE TO THE ECONOMY, THIS DEFINITELY NOT IMPROVE YOUR SITUATION...ITS A HOAX TO SCAM GOOD HARDWORKING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MONEY..YOU WILL FACE CHARGES AND BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE..I KNOW SOMEONE PERSONALLY WHO HAVE WENT THROUGH THIS AND NOT ONLY DID THESE THIEVES CLEAN OUT THEIR ACCOUNTS BUT THEY ARE NOW IN DEBT TO THE BANK WHERE THE CHECK WAS DEPOSITED

i got this check from Henry Barrone its $900,700.00 total and the claim # : WG27630317. but the check i have right now is $989.56 dollars, so what should i do, should i go and change it or will i get myself into trouble.

Take it down to Walmart, buy a big screen tv with it, and let them give you change.

I received a letter with no return address on the envelope from "Providence Inc" claiming that I have won a lump sum of $9,700. In order to receive these funds, I would need contact a claims agent by the name of "Keith Martins" at 905-598-1023. Also enclosed in the envelope was check#0473002, supposedly written on ABA#074908594 (First Third Bank), account#7650906014. THIS IS A SCAM! If you receive a letter & check like this, save (but DO NOT deposit/cash) it, along with the letter & envelope, then file a fraud complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?lang=en) and the USPS Postal Inspection Service (https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx).
