Actually I got a letter with the number listed from a Company called
T & H TRUST LTD, The letter stated that I won the Lottery;  A check mailed for $3960.85 based on winnings of $288,000.00 instructed to pay $2990.00 for taxes out of the check sent.  
The check was enclosed.  It was tempting I thought I should do research on the google before I go to the bank. I found exact same deal as mine
offered to a different person by the same company, with different phone

Also the thing these scam artists are doing is using Canadian postage in order to avoid mail fraud charges.

My wife got the same letter you describe from T&H Trust Limited. With a check for $3960.85 stating she'd use 2990.00 for taxes, etc...no return address. The check was from JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A, Brooklyn, NY. The Trust's mailing address is PO Box 6920, Syracuse, NY 13217. Total BS!!!! Names given for the bogus agents were Rachel White and Bryan Goodman. Canadian Post.

My daughter got the same check and letter in the mail. I worked in banking industry for 21 years and the check looks VERY real. I placed the requested call to try and get information. I was asked to leave a message and so far no return call. What frightens me is that some poor sap will pass this check to an unsuspecting bank teller.

I did not recieve  call but a letter in the mail. The letter stated the same thing it was a check for 3800.00 to pay for the luxury tax and to contact them for the rest. Thank goodness I remembered my dads old saying nothing is for free in this world if you did not work for it more than likely it is not real. I hope more people check into this like we have and do not get frauded.
