I have not received phone calls from this scam artist (at least I don't think I have). However, I did receive a letter and a check from a "Riverside Marketing Group" in Vancouver, BC. In the letter it stated that I had won $9700 and that several attempts were made to contact me to collect my winnings. The included check was to cover any fees or taxes I would have to pay. I admit the check looked legit as the routing number is valid. However, the bank the check is drawn is not legit. Nor is this letter.The part I love is that this company claims to have tried to contact me and yet the one and only letter I receive about this is sent to my work address.

I work at a bank so I am sure these scammers weren't banking on that (no pun intended). If you receive a similar letter please do not try to deposit or cash this check. It will only result in your lost. The letter may have a different marketing group or company name but the theme of the letters are pretty consistent. I know many of us hope it is legit after the holidays but it is not. Hope this helps.

I have recently recieved a letter actually as yours. It reads ( We have made unsuccessful attempts to contact you regarding your Consumer Rewards Program winning. In accordance with the Consumer Rewards Program Commission policy, your prize award money has been forwarded to our clearing/disbursement institution to release your funds to you.

Your lump sum payout is US $9700.00) Congratulations!

I am so glad you posted this, cause it does look very legit. In fact I called the number to try to find out what this was about but its funny how the person is unavailable. Thanks again for your posting it really helped me.

look i have recieved the same letter with the check but i did not know about this i cashed the check and the next day recieved a call saying it was no good so what do i do??????????who can i call?????????
