I received a letter saying I had won $38,000.  Included was a check for $3,800 which they instructed me to put in my bank and then they would let me know what I needed to pay back for taxes owed. I was then instructed to call Brant Yuen or Kristina White for further clarification and instructions on claiming my winning immediately.  They said to deposit the check and call them back and they would tell me how much to send them to pay for taxes.  I told them I would pay my own taxes.  They said no.  When I said I wanted to verify their information, the foreign speaking woman said that I must not want the money and they would give it to charity.  I told them I was contacting the bank and state regarding this scam letter.

Thanks for this site and your information. I just recieved basically the same letter and check. Dollar amounts were the same. However names and number to call were; Clyde West or Sylvia Bir at # 1-905-598---6197. I'll be turning the information over to the authorities Monday A.M.!

i also rexeived a letter saying i had won 38,000. An i also rexeived the check of $3,800. i did send the money the way they asked me to. only because its not my money and plus i didnt want to end up paying big amount of taxes at the end of the year. i sent out the moneygram on 5/6/08 and i was suppost to get the 38,000 on 5/7/08 it is now 5/8/08 and i called them and spoke to Brant Yuen and i wanted to speak to Kristina White, since she was the one helping me. he then said that she was not in the office at this time. and i ask if he could help me and he said yes whats your claim # and once i gave it to him he said you should havent gotten your money yesterday and he said maybe you'll get it today. he did say that he was going to post a note for Kristina on her desk saying to call me first thing in the morning.

I am very curious to see what happens this week for you. I called Johnson Bank which the same $3800.00 check was drawn from . THe bank told me it was a scam from Canada and it is happening all over the country and that the $3800.00 check would bounce. They told me not to give them any of my financial information or money. I am sorry to here that you got caught up in the scam.
