I received two calls from this number, and the caller didn't leave a message either time. Both calls would have been at around 6:30pm Alaska time, but I'm on the east coast, so it's around 10:30pm where I'm at.

First call was Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017. Second call was Monday, Oct. 16, 2017.

I tried returning the call a few times and have only received a busy signal.

I've received a dozen calls from this number in the last 2 weeks. If I answer I get a fast beep, almost a fast busy signal but not quite that fast. The sound is more like a dropped call sound.  If I call it back I get a triple fast beep (same sound).

Received a call twice saying that is UAA wanting to update info and request funding. When I googled this phone number it comes as a headstart preschool in Juneau, AK. It sounds like a scam!, both calls came after business hours 6-8pm

I have had several calls from this #, usually about 8-9 p.m., west coast time. It appears to be UAA, possibly Alumni, but have all of you attended UAA,  in order to get these calls?!  And why is it connected to a Juneau day care center? I will be contacting UAA tomorrow to inquire about this.

Got a call tonight from a guy identifying himself as Inesh from UAA. He wanted to ask me some questions so he could update some information about. Very weird because it was about 6PM. I said I had to go but this person wants to call me tomorrow.
I have received several phone calls from this number and when I call back it just rings and rings.

Missed this call at ~5:30pm AK time (8:30pm central where I am). Attempted to return call but it didn't connect.

I am an alumnus of UAF, although I've never made any contributions to the association. They have NEVER made an effort to contact by phone in the 10+ years I've been a graduate.

I receive calls from this number between 8-10pm Alaska time and they leave no message.  I went to UAA too.  I believe UA is soliciting funds even thought I have told them in the pass to take me off its list.  They keep raising tuition and still ask for money.  I think it is time for no pay raises if UAA needs money.  Or how about this...I make about $43 k a year.  I will donate what the average amount of the amount UAA employees who make $43 k a year give to UAA.  Oh, that number will be zero.  Got it?  Really, do you (UAA) get it? Stop freaking calling.  Leave a message if you do.

I work at University of Alaska Anchorage, most numbers of which have the 786 prefix, so I initially thought this was a work-related call. But this number appears nowhere in the current UAA directory. Conclusion: spam or scam. No message was left.

I work at UAA — this call doesn't appear in the current UAA directory. I'm seeing at this and other phone# checkup sites that a lot of people receiving calls from this number have never been to Alaska nor do they know anyone in Alaska. So — it's not that.

I am one of the people calling from this number. We're all students at UAA who work for the alumni association. It's a non profit. We call to update alumni info and ask about donations. I feel you think it's scam you can contact the alumni association. It's located in the admin and humanities building at UAA. It's really appreciated if you are kind, I understand being annoyed. We often get cussed at and told harsh things like to kill ourselves. It's honestly not a scam but if you don't want calls simply say "don't call me"

Let's see, you looked up your bosses phone number?  Why?  Do you really expect us to believe that all you need to say is "don't call me"?

I called someone today who told me they looked up the number and websites were saying we were a scam. So I looked to see what she meant, it's not my boss's number it the number for the whole phone system. And yes, if you say do not call me we have to mark you down as a do not call. Its simple really. I'm just saying there are human beings on the other side of the phone, just UA students working a job, we aren't trying to harass you we're just working a job.

So let us look at the posts in this thread.  On October 18, Heather said she got a call around 10:30 pm, well past the 9 pm time limit set for charities to call.  On October 22, Andrea says she has received multiple dropped calls, correctly identified in the law as abandoned calls, in violation of the law again. On October 27, FS says that the phone number belongs to someone else, which may or may not be a Truth in Caller ID Act violation.  On November 14, Annie says that she already told you to stop calling but you haven't.  On December 2, M. Green says that he is an UAA employee and that this doesn't appear to be one of their numbers.
Now, considering what you have said in your posts, I am assuming that you are stating that all these people are liars?

Well we aren't open past 9pm Alaska time. Sometimes people get calls later than 9 when they have moved to a different time zone than we have in our records. Sometimes we call people and there's no noise on the other line so we wait and then hang up when we don't hear a response. As for the telling us not to call part, that's probably  case of human error. Maybe whoever she talked to clicked the wrong button. Just request to be removed from the list. And as M. Green said, no our number isn't in the directory. We just got this number in August. But since they work at UAA they can easily comes to the admin building to verify if they wanted. And clearly the number doesn't belong to someone else, numbers change all the time.
