Another trash call! Add it to my collection of Blocked Numbers!!

   Many thanks to the reporting community who contribute warnings and useful, helpful information.
   WE are our own and only first line of defense and NO ONE should be answering unidentified or unrecognized numbers, even if they appear to be local or toll-free numbers...they most likely are spoofed .. (Also, letting it ring wastes more of their time and money. Then they are paying for a service that doesn't work.)
   The second line of defense is to promptly hang up. DO NOT respond in any way...not by voice or selection, and don't call back.
   Third, be sure to register all your numbers on the DO NOT CALL. (They never expire). Report any unwanted contact to FTC, DNC. Then, just by dialing your number unsolicited, they are in violation of the DNC, therefore assumeda scam.
   One more...SHRED. Receipts and documents have a lot of information.
    Called on land line phone. I did not answer and no message was left or call was rejected as unrecognized, unidentified, and in violation of DNC, so assumed a SCAM.
    SCAMMING AND PHISHING CAN ONLY SUCCEED IF THERE IS A MARKET AND WE ARE IT!  Be smart, alert, suspicious, and aware. Educate yourself, share and report.

unknown name, left no message.... blocked it

Caller ID had PPS 908-242-3647 on it. I have been on the Do Not Call list for over 10 years and it has not been at all helpful against these scammers. This call appeared to be a total robot call with cues as to yes no answers. Wanted money for police association to help children. Like I would EVER money to someone who called me.

Buy a good call blocker then block the area code.

Missed call, no message

The so called  Do Not Call list is a farce and a big joke nowadays.
I too got a call from this same number with the name of PPS on the caller id
These scammers are a pain in the butt cheeks

Got a call, pick up - got a really bizarre sound. It sounded like "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Whatever it is - BLOCKED!!

called on 03-02-17 at7:28 pm. no message. voip call. last 7 digits of voip 2733455. same internet caller as 908-327-6919, and 908-368-5124. other calls for donations for state police. per other sites scam

Got a call from them and other similar numbers. Never answer phone numbers you don't reconize.

Scam charity asking for money. I do not consider it a real charity if they only contribute 10% of their income to the cause.

The DNC is not a farce or waste of time. It allows you to know that any unsolicited,  unidentified, unrecognized call is in violation and can be considered a scam. Let it ring. It wastes the scammers time and money.

Never answer calls I don't know and this DNC list is BS !!!   Wish something could be done !

Yet another poster who signed up for a govt freebie, but was unable to understand what it really does, or why it was instituted.


Fact: The National Do Not Call list is NOT a call blocker!
The DNC list is a LIST, subscribed to / purchased by legitimate telemarketers, so they know who not to call. The FCC or FTC do not give or sell the list to unqualified recipients!

Fact: Telephone numbers on the Registry don’t expire.  You do NOT have to re-register annually.

Fact: Scammers and spammers ignore the DNC list.
Many use "war dialers" to quickly dial phone numbers.  After all, phone numbers are just numbers, and are no secret!  (Arabic numbers were invented about 500 AD, so even stupid scammers know about them by now).

Fact: The DNC list does not apply to NON-sales calls, such as political calls, charities, surveys, debt collectors and businesses with which you have done business with during the previous 18 months.

Fact:  Spam callers can be blocked by getting a real call blocker.
 Google (or your favorite search engine) is your friend.

They called my home number, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message. Blocked!

Caller ID says PPS.  Just another scammer who will never get through to us

there are 2 numbers appearing! on my caller "ID" the 1st is the 908 2nd is on top its V3051702290002 WTH is that?????

Called landline. Left no message. CID displayed PPS. Area code NJ. We NEVER answer ANY unsolicited call. Too many crooks, thieves and CRIMINALS trying to victimize whoever answers the phone. No message, call is not legitimate and certainly not important.
