- RoxanneCaller left VM stating Congratulations you are the second place winner in the state lottery blah, blah, call 909 271 9725
with some confirmation code to claim your prize.
My state doesn't give out millions to random people, if they do I'll be having a chat with my state representative.... - BradGot the same call from the "state lottery" scam cookin here
- Caller: State lottery
- DonnaVM Congrats 2nd place winner state lottery 1.5 Mil 2015 car and conf number. i dont live in CA
- Caller: scam
- Jewell| 1 replyI had a VM indicating I had won 2nd place in the state lottery of 1.6M, and a Mercedes. The claim was that Wal-Mart was rewarding their customers and giving back to the community. I was given a prize and claim number. I knew it was a scam, but I called to see what he would say. The name that was given was Robert Henry....he went on to tell me about what I had won. He said the check and keys to the car would be delivered either by FedX or UPS, my choice. I asked what was the catch and he said no catch, but I would be responsible for paying over $200 to the delivery service. I asked how is that you claim I have won something but I have to pay to get it? I further told him that this is a scam and he IMMEDIATELY hung up!
- Caller: State Lottery
- RobynUsually don't answer these calls, but did. Caller said he was from the state lottery. I interrupted and told him to never call again, and as I hung up I heard him yelling "Shut up and listen!" Scammer!
- TG| 1 replyAfter receiving a call from 909-271-9725, they left me a voicemail stating that I too was a lottery winner of 1.6 million bucks and a 2015 Mercedes Benz....he left a confirmation # and callback number (same as above)
Of course I recognized this as a scam, however after checking 800notes, I read something extremely disturbing from a post by Jewell. She mentioned Walmart! Not that this caller mentioned Walmart, but I left the local Walmart store approx. 2 hours before getting this call. Hauntingly a coincidence? I doubt it. It would appear to me that the security of Walmart has been compromised. I have not shopped in that store in over a year, I had to provide my personal information, phone #, DOB etc to the pharmacy in order to place a prescription order....something does not sound proper!
I tried to contact the local store security , however I was placed on hold several times and then sat on hold for over 15 mins.
Walmart Corporate will be getting a phone call tomorrow....readers beware....if it's too good to be true...it probably is!- Caller: State Lottery - Walmart ???
- TG replies to JewellHi Jewell...I just added a post and used your post as a reference. What city/state are you in? I have a feeling this is a security related issue through Walmart. I am contacting Walmart Corporate tomorrow and want to bring this to their attention. This is way to convenient to be a coincidence...
Thank You! - LynneI received a call from 909-271-9725 this morning stating that I had won the USA Lottery 1.6 million and a 2015 Mercedes. Right away I knew it was a scam. The caller went on to explain the Walton Family of Wal-Mart was rewarding their customers and that I was the 2nd place winner. He went on to try to schedule delivery of my cashiers check and car at my HOME ADDRESS!!!! Fortunately we had just moved but I am totally Creeped out now about how they had that information not just my name and phone number. I have not visited a Wal-Mart in a few months, not sure if this a Wal-Mart security issue?? A high enough population shop there that I doubt that people would question it. I kept playing along trying to get more information as to how they were actually trying to scam me. I think my lack of enthusiasm for the prize and my questions lead to me getting hung up on. I hope people are smart enough not to send money to these people!!
- HTown TXReceived a voicemail from this number stating I won $300K plus a 2015 Mercedes. Did not call number back as I knew it was a scam based on posts above. I have a wal- mart credit card, I wonder if that is the link - data breach? Anyone else that received this have one?
- Caller: Lottery?
- L replies to TGI haven't been to Walmart in months and just got this call. It's not associated with them.
- RedHere's part of the voice message: Caller says I have won $337,000 on my own. I could not hear who she represented. She gave a claim number and asked to me to call 949-903-7680. I believe this is a bogus call and I'm glad that I could look up the number 909 271 9725 that showed up with the call with Google Search to help confirm my suspicion.
- Caller: could not hear clearly
