Just received another "you are being sued by the IRS" call.  This time from La Verne, CA - the last time was from a man with either an Indian or Pakistani accent in Washington, VA.   New twist; no human voice.  The message was left in a mechanical voice (probably to hide any accents).  Checked with IRS website and it says the IRS first contacts through the mail for lawsuits (mail that includes official letterhead forms with legitimate phone numbers and officers whose badge I.D.s can be verified).  Every couple of months I hear from these scammers.

Same thing just happened to me from a 909 area code with a mechanical female voice. Good to hear and confirm its a scam!

Same message for me. I've had a few over the course of last year. Always a different number. Always a scam about being sued from the IRS. Called back once and it was a prompt asking for information if I remember right.

I received an automated message from this number 1/20/16 same as others, indicating that I am being sued by the IRS.  Thank you for this site which helped alley my initial panic.

IRS lawsuit? They contact by certified mail. Not a recorded, robot voice.
