Claimed to be from San Bernardino County tax auditor / collection agency. Gave a different # to call back. Unsolicited / unexpected call, and I shouldn’t owe taxes except to the state so this sounds like a scam.

You can also call the tax auditor using the number from their website- not this number given.

Scammers spoof legitimate numbers of any Authority/Agency, so you can't trust the caller is who they claim nor can you trust an unpublished number is legit. Always call from a reputable, published number to ensure you are talking to the right people.

Do you honestly think someone who posted WAY BACK IN DECEMBER is 1, going to return & see your reply and 2, will still need your non-legal advice?

Female caller left a voice mail message for a name I don’t know. Said she was calling from San Bernardino County, but she slaughtered the pronunciation. She never identified what division of the County. She also left a “reference” number.  I blocked the number.

When I asked her to email me the documents she said she can not do that. So of course I got frim with her whole story and she didn't know how to react, other than saying she's going to garnish may wages AND HUNG UP ON ME.  LOL really a speeding ticket from 14 years ago I think the DMV would of contacted me.

You would know if you were pulled over for speeding.  That isn't something most people forget unless you happened to be drunk at the time and then I guess you would have had bigger problems.  You can easily check with the courthouse or the PD to see if you have outstanding tickets.  You can easily check with the DMV also as they would have a record of it.  Anything else that you need to know you should consult an attorney in your state.

Someone called from this number asking for my incarcerated boyfriend (mind you this is his phone ) I asked her what the call was about and she didn't want to tell me she said something about his probation, but then asked to speak with him, if she has enough information about him wouldn't she know that's he's in jail ?? Then she asked me when did he get into custody ?? Like if you're from the San Bernardino county office and probation shouldn't you have access to all his information ?? I don't trust this number.
