SCAM SCAM ....CAN ANYONE SMELL ROTTEN FISH ?

Received a call from this number.  The representative identified themselves as being from the Legal Department of the US Treasury.  I'm calling the California Department of Consumer Affairs (which is where this call originated from) and reporting this company.

Received a call from this number.  The representative identified themselves as being from the Legal Department of the US Treasury.  She said to call Banny Morrison at the US treasury office (same no.) and inform him that no notice was issued regarding a criminal case filled against me.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Except it didn't originate there, the number is being spoofed and these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. There is no such "company" as you will find out. Just a bunch of extortion scammers looking to steal peoples money.

Message was left for my son who hasn't lived here for several years.  Indian/Pakistani accent was very hard to understand at times, and rather rambling message was obviously being read from a script.  Claimed to be "James with the legal department of United States Treasury," urging him to call back or have his "legal team" call back soon to avoid possible legal action.  Deleted message, since the IRS doesn't ever contact people by phone, only snail mail.  Will be blocking the number.
