Call for my son who has not lived at my home for 10 years. Says call is in reference to a serious "enforcement action" by the US Treasury. Obviously a scam of some sort. Woman with thick indian accent.
Did not return call.

i received a similar call about enforcement from the Treasury dept also. The gentlemen that called and left a message had a thick Asian accent and was very difficult to understand his English. I believe the Treadury dept doesn't outsource their calls to a foreign country. However in this era, who knows. I also did not return the call.

Recieved a call from this number last week and spoke to someone calling himself Jack Lewis (Indian accent) stating that he was from the Dept of Legal affairs working for the US Treasury dept threating legal action against me.  I hung up on him and he called right back, I did not pick up.  He left a message and called my mobile (office line directs them there is the call is urgent).  I did some reserach on this and it is a scam, I reported it to the US Treasury Dept.  The call said Riato, CA.

I received a call from this number claiming that there was an arrest warrant for my husband and myself.  The caller said that we had been served with documents because we had committed tax fraud in 2009.  The caller was looking for our attorney's information.  The caller was rude and eventually hung up on me when I doubted her story and began asking questions.

There were 2 messages from this number from a "David Jones" claiming strong legal action was being taken against me because of owed taxes. He claimed to be from Legal Affairs of the US Treasury.  I called back, he answered right away and asked for my attorneys info. When I insisted he give me more information and said I don't owe any taxes, and what is he talking about, we suddenly seemed to be disconnected.  He had an indian accent.  

There is a widespread IRS or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

909-666-5751 from Rialto Ca. A woman calling herself Christina Brown says the Treasury? Dept has filed legal action against
my husband and he is to call back and if he chooses not to; he needs to have his attorney call back. SCAM; DONT EVEN PICK UP! THIS TIME THEY EVEN USED MY HUSBANDS NAME. At the end, she says what she said on the first scam telephone we got, "Thank you and have a blessed day." Wow. Someone needs to do something about this one to protect older people because it sounds real. ITS A SCAM.
