This person said they were the "IRS"and my assets were going to be frozen if I didn't make arrangements to send him money,sounded fishy I went to the police station and played the message they said it was a scam, I also went to the IRS building and talked to them and they assured me it was a scam. The IRS doesn't call you they notify you with letters. and certified letters, this is a scam phone number.Beware of these criminals.

Got a call, person could barely speak English. It was a "Federal call" if I didn't call "John Harris at 909665794" there would be a "warrant out for my arrest". Turn myself in is what this man was telling me. He also gave me a "claims number".

got a call from a new york number to call this number back 9096665794, which is a california number , to turn myself in for criminal charges and to call captain john harris , also gave me a claim number. when i called back from another number than my cell to question the person and gave them the claim number , they put me on hold and then dropped the call.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.

IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

I got the same calls as those before me. I called my state police and my tax office. I knew it was probably fake, but had to make sure.

Called claiming to be with the conservation dept and to call back and identify myself. If I didnt there would be a warrant out for my arrest.....whatever

I've just received a call on my work mobile; from and Unknown number.  It was a recording, claiming to be with the "State Police Department, Fraud Prevention Unit," and was given a "Case #" and the instructions to call (909) 666-5794 and speak with Captain John Harris.  I could also go into my local police department and turn myself in!

I have no idea how this scam would even work, but whatever.

I got a voicemail from this number a few days ago. The caller claimed to be from the Federal Bureau of Fraud Preventionas as others it was a recording from an unknown number..I was given a case# and a name..Captain John Harris..to refer to..and/or the option of taking a criminal attorney and myself to surrender at a local police station. I'm not sure if or how but the voice seemed unnaturally altered. I was startled but mainly angry...as I dialed the designated phone number...909-666-5794 to try and MAKE MY DAY with Captain Harris. The disturbing part of making that call was that I was speaking to a person with the same distorted voice. As I became more aggressive whoever I was engaged with became more adamant about their claims and kept fumbling or dropping the phone and coming back at me with not just my full name but much more of my personal information. I was finally just told to wait at home and I would promptly be arrested. I have been prey to the double the money checks mailed to me after posting items for sale on Craig's List. In fact I have a somewhat exotic collection of these letters sent in handmade envelopes with interesting stamps. I never did understand that scam...but this one is quite puzzling. Another left handed endeavor of the human condition. I give it 2 middle fingers up in a rapid firing formation. Toodles!
