One of those, call back or you are doomed, type messages. "Urgent! Call with your attorney of record! If you do not call back immediately you will be sorry!"

They spoke so quickly that I can't even make out what organization they are pretending to represent or what the urgency was supposed to be about.

They did know one of our names and used it at the beginning of the call to try to add legitimacy to it.

Same experience. Knew my name, talked so fast I couldn't get a company name, used the phrase "attorney of record" (which is the wrong phrase if talking about something that hasn't happened yet), and wished me luck. It threw me for a minute, but anything official will be sent by mail not by phone calls.

Garden variety Indian or Pakistani scammers.  Ignore and block.  I recognize the robo-greeter.  British accent.

They seemed to be threatening me with a visit from the authorities.

Full on criminal operation. Don't be fooled, this is a scam.  I'm very surprised the FBI is not on this.

I got one too. Just like others have said urgent return call or your doomed. Also couldn't understand what the lady was saying. She said her name was Louise

recieved Message from a woman identified as Louisa, accent SE Asia, asking for XXX. "The second you receive this call call back immediately. You need to send in your yearly payment...(unintelligible). Urgent you return this call NOW. Do not ignore!"
I called back the number and after a very long period of silence a male came on and said "US Treasury Dept" (also heavily accented). Asked what number I was calling from and I gave them a number and the name of person message was left for. Then I told him he had a wrong number, XX didn't  live here and stop calling.

Not the US Treasury.  Indian or Pakistani scammers.  Ignore and block the numbers.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Got same call threatening me and wishing me good luck.  Guy named patrick talking really fast.  Another scam.

I got the doomsday message from Louise, then called back, and a man answered "US Treasury". When I wouldn't give info and mentioned the internet seems to indicate it's an illegal scam, he asked me to "do him a favor", the specifics of which I won't repeat in case kids are reading this, but suffice it to say he was referring to a lewd act. Classy. I wonder why law enforcement can't track these guys down? We have phone numbers -- are they untraceable?

I received the same call from "Patrick."

Told the guy who answered that I had searched the number on google, and there was a wealth of info describing this as a phony number... An attempt to steal your money.

I am so tiered from all  that calls during the day and night.Is anything could be done to stop this harassment  forever

Call came from San Bernardi, California

Just recieved a call from Jason asking for my son and threatened him with police action. Wish some one could stop these calls. I hope no one falls for this, call also came from San Bernardo, Ca but caller gave an 888 number.

same experience - got this message:

"This message is intended for Mr. Ms. XXXXX the very second you receive this message I need you or your retain attorney of records to return the call the issue at hand is extremely time sensitive my name is Kim and the hotline to my division is 909-713-7147 I repeat it's 90971371472 not disregard this message return the call now if you don't return the call or I don't hear from your attorney either the only thing I can do is wish you luck as the situation unfolds on you."

I got the exact same message but the call came from a different number.  It came from 1-855-778-2918,  It referenced 909-713-7147.

Same as Annoyed in PA. Call came from a different #917-522-6658 but told us to call 909-713-7147. Patrick was a fast talker. Sick and tired of these calls. What more can be done??!
