There callers are frudulant people. I have heard that all 900 numbers are numbers to charge the caller for there personal long distance calls. So, hung up on them and never ever call them back. As they will charge you for there own calls and you will get bills for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.

they leave a recorded message about a vehicle warranty - it's happened twice now (also from phone# 302-875-8634) but i just delete the voicemails, it's obviously some annoying telemarketing thing... i also signed up on the National Do Not Call List (if you go to www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca you can register to be on the Do Not Call List)..hopefully these numbers won't call me anymore

905 is an area code for over 2 million people in Toronto, Canada so not all 900 numbers are tele-marketers.  I do think that this particular number is a bogus call though.

I received a call from 909-842-9108.  The area code is in California.  I do not know how they got my phone number since I live in Canada.  Needless to say the call is bogus and should be ignored.  However, I would like to alert the authorities about the fraudsters.  Who do you contact?

Don't sign up on the "Do not Call Registry", about a week ago the news reported that the phone numbers on that registry have been sold to telemarketers!!! Don't sign up!

Same as the others, "your warranty is about to expire.. Blah, Blah, Blah."
They've called our land line several times and left automated messages but I finally answered one day, as we don't have call display, and when pressed for details they say they'll take you off the list then hang up. Now, annoyingly, they've got both of our cell #'s, mine is through work and nobody knows it. I'm pi$$ed!

Exactly. The "do not call" list is in fact a list.

    Don't be on ANY list.

Two calls to our cells this week from these California creeps with the message "This is the final notice that the factory warranty on your vehicle is about to expire. Press 1 to be connected to a live operator..."

I hung up after listening for too long.

    Really annoyed.
I keep getting weird 900 based area codes. Once it was 919, now its 909. I'm getting really pissed cuz today they had the audacity to leave me an automated voicemail on my cell.
Those b******s. I'm just worried that I'm going to accidentally pick one of these up and get charged a lot of money.
I want these calls to stop. Because I'm getting them during class and now they've gone and left a voicemail.
I didn't have this problem when my number was still private.
I'm going to try the donotcall list and see if that works but I've read (on another forum like this) that it doesnt because the telemarketer doesnt follow the rules of something or other.

Same details as most all others. I live in Canada, I have a Rogers cell phone, I ignored the call and had a voice mail left about a car warranty.

This is the second time in a week now I've received a call from a California phone number.

Yes, 909-842-9108 is calling and leaving a voicemail that my extended auto insurance is about to expire, and press 1 to speak with someone.  It's a common scam and a fraud.  Don't press 1, don't answer, don't reply.  I'm pissed that they are calling on my personal unlisted cell phone number.  I have no idea how they got my number.  In another website they are saying this company is doing a random dial out.  Some say they may have gotten their number from bank TD Financial in CANADA.  Some say to report it as attempted fraud to CRTC in Canada and report to the FTC in the U.S.  Note:  909 area code is *NOT* Toronto area Canada.  Phone book shows 909 as San Bernadino California - and others confirm State of California U.S.A.  Google / internet search the calling number and you'll find the other website which I mention.

They have been calling our other cell phone for weeks. they are now calling the new number. Can the phone companies not trace this crap?
I don't think they want to. It makes money for the phone companies - cell companies included. Face it - if you sold a service that someone pays for and others randomly spend their money as extra - would you complain? I hope you would, but the cell companies wont for sure.

Is there no way to report this "company" to the CRTC or FTC?!?
Did anyone that answered their calls actually get some kind of extraneous charges on their cell bill?
