- Me, TooI have tried to file a report & it does not complete however, these people are really busy. On 1/7/15 I received three (3) calls from this number but this time they were representing Advanced Tech (ATS) & wanted to help me get a $249.00 refund as ATS was having technical problems & wanted to send refund - But I had to update my information so they could send it to credit department - I told them my CP was not working - they hung up! On 1st call I asked to put someone on line that spoke clear English & the man hung up! Then a female called back. This same number called again on 1/8/15 a.m. no one on line when I answered!
- Caller: don't know!
- Attiegirl - Sally Keefe| 1 replyTHEY ARE BACK. The calls ended for this scam for a time as they were cycling around the country and saturated calling. They are now back calling in the Portland, Oregon area. This is the same group as before - very heavy accented caller - same [***]. SCAM THROUGH AND THROUGH. My cure for them is a police whistle that I keep in my drawer just for people like this. When they come on the line I simply let them enjoy the sound of that metal whistle. Might not get the point across but it sure feels GREAT!

- Nancy D. replies to Attiegirl - Sally KeefeI've had two calls from this number this morning. The first one woke me up, and the first thing the guy (heavy Indian accent) said was "Are you on your computer?" and then proceeded to try to get me to hit the control button, but I couldn't understand much else. I thought it was a friend of mine from California, and when I found out it was a scam I started yelling, "Who are you?" Finally I just hung up and won't answer that number again.
- Skippy in Milwaukie, Oregon| 1 replyI just called the number using two different carriers and found out it is disconnected. I have included some information on how to report these calls as well information on how to IRS Scams directly to the IRS. I hope everyone will find the information helpful.
I received a call about an hour and followed up with the Milwaukie (that is the correct spelling), Oregon Police Department. They have received a few other calls about this number today and everyone is mentioning the same information mentioned above. The officer and I talked for a few minutes we agreed that these are the best steps for handling this situation.
Here are the steps:
1) If possible, enter you phone carrier's trace code (Comcast is *57)
2) Keep a log of who, what, where, why
3) Call your local police department (especially if it is an IRS scandal)
Here are few more links that will be helpful

- Stacy BiermaThis person called my place of business saying something about computers. His Indian accent was so thick there were a couple of words I couldn't understand. I politely told him I couldn't understand him and he said "[***] you, you [***]" and hung up on me. Completely unprofessional and distasteful.
- sally keefeI have been getting hit with these scammers several times a day - as has my son on his cell phone. The either are Microsoft or from the U.S. Government. With the government calls I ask them to tell me the branches of government - they hang up. Many times I use the whistle in the ear method - metal whistle LOUDLY in the mouthpiece. They get the hint pretty fast and the calls sometimes actually stop for a time. They are hitting the Pacific Northwest HARD right now. Obviously from India or Pakistan in a scam call center. This shows them in California. No. They are hitching a ride on phone lines here. They are definitely coming in and hijacking a dialer here in the U.S.

- sally keefe replies to Skippy in Milwaukie, OregonI am in Clackamas. I got two this morning - no number showing other than zeros. Asked them to give me the branches of government since they said they represented them. This has really ratcheted up in the past week. Either it is the Microsoft crew who do not know "David Gates" - the answers are hilarious. Why YES! They know him! I will use the information you provided and start keeping track and turning it in. Pretty hard for anyone to stop this since they come in and hijack a dialer at some phone bank. I do have to say blowing the police whistle in their ear is rather a nice break from my work day. Sadly, these are obviously people from India or Pakistan that know they are engaged in a scam and have no problem with that because they see Americans as stupid people.
- JamesReceived a call from a guy with an Indian accent. Was hard to understand him. Told me my computer was "infected" and that he could help me fix it. I told him my computer was just fine. No, no he says - it needs to be fixed right away. I told him I did not believe him and hung up.
- HeatherCalled asking for a person who didn't live here, then tried to ask if I had any computers I said no. He made a rude comment to me and I hung up. Tired of these types of calls!
