    Annoyed
Energy saving outfits have been calling me EVERYDAY for at least 3 months.  They go by various names and calls come from several different phone numbers.  I've asked that they remove me from their list, but it does no good.  If I don't answer the phone they do not leave a message.  They have been calling so much it comes under the catagory of HARRASSMENT.

Who ever is calling from this number will NOT stop calling me, anf when I answer they just sit there and then the phone hangs up! I blocked them on my phone but I keep getting 10 calls or more a day from these people! I know it's got to be some kind or telermaketer. Please make then stop! Oh and when I try to call back the much it keeps saying the number can not be reached!

I also continue to receive calls from this number. I called number back and this # not accepting calls.  They say they are the Electric Power Association - I tried to find them on the internet to no avail.  My husband went through the whole process with them, they are trying to send someone out to look for ways you can save energy in your home.  We have asked them numerous times to stop calling.

Have received calls as reported by others everyday for 3-5 months. Have blocked the numbers..they switch to other numbers. Say they are not telemarketers so the DNC list doesn't apply to them. I guess we need a harassing call list. They say the government needs to give everyone $3800 for energy. They must be talking about a foreign government since the US government has no money. There does not appear to be a way to stop these calls!

Just talked to ATT. You can block up to 6 numbers if they are your carrier. If the list exceeds 6 they recommend you contact the local police dept and report the harassment. If they feel it is harrassment, invasion of privacy, etc, they will establish a case number and work with local phone companies to gatehr info and shut them down. Might be worth a try. Seems many of us are getting calls from the same numbers indicating we might all live in South Ga.

I have received calls from the number and kept refusing to talk with them. After about the 7th call, I made an appointment. When I asked for a number to cancel the call, they ignored me. I tried to call back and it could not be reached. They are supposed to meet with me in 30 minutes. I am going to meet them at the door and tell them that we tried to cancel and there was no way to get in touch with them.

Yes this is the first time they called and, what the heck, I figured I'd make an appt. Well, low and behold, a no show. The Appt was set for 1800hrs and it's now 2038hrs. Needless to say, if I get another call from them, I'll let them know of the no show and ask to be removed from their list. If it persist, I'll buy a recorder, and let them know everytime they call they are being recorded and tell them to stop calling. If it continues, maybe a lawsuit will help tame them. Yes, let them know you are recording them, this prevents a loss in your case just in case they are calling from a two party state.

Georgia's wiretapping law is a "one-party consent" law for purposes of making audio recordings of conversations. Georgia makes it a crime to secretly record a phone call or in-person conversation "originat[ing] in any private place" unless one party to the conversation consents. See Ga. Code §§ 16-11-62(1), 16-11-66 (link is to the entire code; you need to click through to Title 16, Chapter 11, Article 3, Part I, and then choose the specific provisions). Therefore, you may record a conversation or phone call if you are a party to the conversation or you get permission from one party to the conversation in advance. That said, if you intend to record conversations involving people located in more than one state, you should play it safe and get the consent of all parties.

Received this call today.  Tried to get them to give me a website.  They don't have one. Called under the Electric Power Association name and the same bit on the $3800 in govt. money.  Glad I googled as I was confirming the appt.  Promptly cancelled them coming before I got off the phone with the confirmation.  Thanks to everyone here for posting.  Your reports were so helpful!

Basically a repeat of what everyone else has said - they've been calling for weeks ... keep changing their numbers ... mumble the name of the company, BUT today I did catch the name of the person calling - "Logan" - I told him I've asked repeatedly to be removed from their calling list and that I'm on the dnc list.  He told me the dnc list doesn't apply to them because their not selling anything.  I advised him that they are still required to remove me from their list because I have requested them to do so.  His response was they didn't have to follow any of those laws as they've found a way around them.  I told him they were being reported to the FCC for harrasement and if I received one more call I would report them to the police for harrassment.

The calls all appear to come from cell phone numbers ... so blocking numbers or getting any help from the telelphone providers is nearly impossible.

I now have done some research and the 912 467 # is a Nextel number; the 912 227 number is a Powertel Atlanta Licenses Inc number and the 770656 number is a New Cingular wireless number.  I am now starting to report these calls to the company that issued them.

Caller ID appears as "Wireless Caller", since it was local I answered it. Person said they were not selling anything, which immediately put up a red flag for me. When he told me he wanted to tell me how I can get $3800 from the government I told him to tell them to keep it and put it toward the debt. He persisted so I said good by and hung up. I have added this number to the Block Calls list in my Panasonic phone, and as others appear will do the same.

Also, next time they call I will immediately say, "I must inform you that this call is being recorded for use in potential future legal proceedings. Is that ok?" They hate that, and in Georgia you will be covered legally if you really do record it and it ends up as evidence in court.

It's a scam folks, don't set up an appointment. Say no thank you and hang up.
