It's comenity bank. Could be several different debt collectors but I'm a month behind and it's my Victoria's Secret account that's past due.

Kept getting calls and then a hang up several times a day.  Did the *69 and got this number for Comenity Bank.  Just want it to stop.  This is a business, and 5 to 10 hang up calls a day is a waste of time.

These people call on about 6 different telephone #'s and names plus they also call my extra non-outgoing (only incoming calls) telephone #'s. Obviously this is so that they can call up and over the amount allowed in a day.

They have called my house phone (mind you, I never give that out), mentioning I owe money and that I'm behind 2 months worth... I owe nothing. The credit card they said, I paid off last year AND they gave me the wrong account number... geniuses. Not legit debt collectors!

I made a $25.00 payment,  currently not working,  paid out of my 20% VA disability check.  They are still calling wanting more.  I've told them I don't have it,  they asked me to borrow from family! I told them that's impossible since I don't have family (foster child) and the guy basically called me a liar. Said everybody has family!  They now get blocked!

I am sorry, but there is no restriction on the number of times a creditor can call. Courts have made no rule as to what constitutes "civil harassment" in relation to the number of calls to your telephone.
The Fair Debt Practices Collection Act (FDCPA), a federal law, only applies to third party collectors - i.e. debt collectors or collection agencies.
The provisions of the FDCPA are not "rocket science." Look up the text on the Internet.
The FDCPA  applies to all consumer debts.
If the consumer prevails reasonable attorney fees and court costs are awarded.

    Hope this helps.

Get familiar with the provisions of the Fair Debt COllection Practices Act (FDCPA). It is a federal law that regulates debt collectors. IT is not "rocket science" and is easy to understand. It provides that if the debtor prevails reasonable attorney fees and costs are awarded.

Comenity Bank issues branded credit cards.  While their interest rates are a bit usurious, you were given the facts when you signed up for the card.  If you get behind on one of those cards, you can expect a call from them at some point.  I have no doubt that they get aggressive when ignored.  If you don't have one of those cards, then I would suggest that you send them a certified, return receipt cease comm letter.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

They also called your cell phone number to reach you. They do anything. Don’t have the money. Get what I have to give.
