I received a call on my office phone from what I would describe as an offshore call center using a spoofed Kansas number 913-871-5838. The female caller with a foreign accent correctly asked for me by name said stated she was calling from "Medicare Insurance." I said medicare insurance is a generic term and asked more firmly for the name of her employer. She insisted her employer was "medicare insurance" and they were offering service to help seniors in finding Medicare insurance. I told her that her number was spoofed and that I am on the DoNotCall.gov list. Further, I told her that she must be offshore as each DoNotCall offense is a $500 fine in the US. She clicked off. I am getting all variety of these calls to my various phone numbers. They all offer something that requires the collection of personal indicative information (home security system, carpet/duct cleaning, credit card payment consolidation, etc.). I reported the call to the FBI.

Good post, thanks. For future reference, though, here's a direct quote from the FTC web site regarding the fine for violating the DNC:

"What are the penalties for breaking the law?
Those who violate the National Do Not Call Registry or place an illegal robocall can be fined up to $16,000 per call. "

Problem with offshore criminals is finding them and having the jurisdiction to fine them.

This is a SCAM! The oversea "business" said i was approved for a $10,000 loan. I played his game for a few minutes and he got irritated at my question and got rude (wrong thing to do) so I let him know that I thought about his "company". I noticed every time I would ask a serious/important question another overseas person came in the line. After I called them out they hung up. Its a scam don't answer the phone.

The phone numbers 913-871-5838.    823-319-3990.  401-648-9484.  773-657-6014. 888-748-3526.  877-936-4162.  All these numbers are related and all there web sites i found are cashpay.ml. cashpay.ga.  championauto loans Freshcredit.com. on every one of these they link you to sign with freescorenow and scorescence and all of the web sites are the same people and scams very heavy accents but everything leads back to a hosting web co site5 in Colorado .if a american company is so neglagent that there asisting in foreigners scams .We all need to put a stop to this .the man read me my address and threatened me.anyone getting threatened or scammed from any off these .CALL SITE 5 THERE PHONE NUMBER IS THE SAME NUMBER FRESH CREDIT HAD GO TO AIHIT AND PUT IN PHONE NUMBER 8779364162 YOU WILL GET INFO THAT SITE 5IS INVOLVED WITH THESE COMPANYS.I LET THEM KNOW WHATS GOING ON AND NEVER HEARD BACK.THERE BUISNESS IS IN THE US YOU THINK THEY WOULD BE MORE RESPONSIBLE .I HAVE POLICE REPORT AND FBI REPORT
