My mother received a call from this guy today. He got her all worried. Glad to hear it's a scam, but I don't quite understand what the scam is. I block the number so he won't bother my parents anymore.

I got a phone call from the same number, Is anyone doing something about this.  It was a strong Indian accent saying that I need to call them asap.  He said he was from Treasury office and Legal affairs, he left on my answer machine. that I needed to call them to solve a legal matter right away. When I came to work this morning I looked up this number and found out this was a scam.

STOP THE HARRASMENT!  It is obvious an Indian or middle eastern person is NOT going to be representing the UNITED STATES, I mean hello?!!

May 28, 2014, the same person with an accent called my husband phone and I answered it. The guy was saying I have a case against me. Blo!Blo! Blo! Yes it's a scam! Scam! Scam! From the same phone number somewhere in New York and still trying to call. Just receive 2 calls this first week of June 1 & 5, 2014.

got the same calls from a george rogers phone # 914-364-9546.calls came from new york. legal affairs us dept treasury.very heavy accent indian or from india.also im looking for a new phone # for loans of america  loans for america loan america america loans etc. phone # r 347-380-9901 347-38-9902.  if by chance u have a new # for them please leave me a message on this site. thank you much

Just called and the line sounded so distorted I hung up. I'm glad I did now that I read the comments.

Just got a call from this. Names Alan Butler and Kevin Smith saying they are Senior Investigation Officers for the US Treasury. Said I was named in a lawsuit listed as the primary suspect. When I called back a person claiming to be Kevin Smith answered and I said I had just googled the phone number and found out they are a total scam and that I would report them he quickly hung up the phone

two days in a row received a phone call from Rebecca Johnson, asking for my father in law. Horrible connection, and the funny thing is we had the same thing happen 2 months ago with a similar number with a man named Kevin smith. Both are very heavily indian accented. I'm over these calls we've told them plenty of times we know its a scam but they try every other month.

Got a call from this number today. My son answered and handed the phone to his 12 YEAR OLD sister because they asked for her by name. It was this same creep. He scared her to death!! With so many complaints about these numbers can't they do something about this?

This phone number keeps calling my home here in Pennsylvania verbally threatening myself and my home...When you call the number back..Some Indian sounding guy says that you have called the Department Of Treasury...

Wow, this is disgusting and goes to show you how absolutely low people will sink to make a damn buck! Just received a phone call from the creator of all my favorite 'Jay and Silent Bob' movies-"Kevin Smith." Wasn't aware that he was INDIAN.... Stupid JERKS! They got us good-same scenario...Really good scare for someone who is completely unaware of these SCAMS! Pretending to be the US Dept. of Treasury and describing how we owed money and how our property and assets would be seized and we would be sent to prison and so on and so forth if we didn't pay...Went as far as to say if we paid $1000 up front that they'd be willing to work out a payment plan with us and stop the police from coming to our doorstep within 40 minutes. We pushed the issue over and over, requesting for more information-stating we knew nothing of what they were speaking of and this "Kevin Smith" - with his fake badge number, just kept insisting that all our paperwork would be given to us upon the arrival of the police when we were to be arrested. For hours this disrupted our lives. Ridiculous....if you give them the smallest piece of information about anything they run with it-where you lived at a certain point, a date or time-ANYTHING! GIVE THEM NO INFORMATION AND REPORT THESE PEOPLE TO 1-877-FTC-HELP or "FTC COMPLAINT ASSISTANT" at FTC.gov and make sure to include "IRS SCAM" to your complaint!  Its an awful scam and these people are ruthless, heartless and gutless! THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!

A lady with a thick foreign accent called saying she was letting me know about some legal actions being taken against me by the government. Called like 4 times and only left one message. Scams...

Same Story here..Only I called back and called their bluff and said I contacted the IRS directly and they had no reference to this matter, the gentleman on the other end "politely" said -uck you and hung up. Do yourself a favor, put the the number on DNC for your telephone number.

These people called me Friday and again today to tell me that the government  that he was  a Senior Investigation Officers for the US Treasury.  that his name was Kevin Smith, the other call was from George  He said I was named in a lawsuit listed as the primary suspect.  I called back  but than there was no answer. Immediately a person  called me back claiming to be Kevin Smith and  said that I was being investigated by the IRS for taxes that I own back in 2010 When I said that I didn't own any taxes and it had to be a mistake, he told me that he was calling the police now to come and arrest me right now. he gave me his badge number 86150 which I know has to be fake. He said that there was a warrant for my arrest. So I goggle this number on line and I see that there a lot of calls being made this number 914 364-9546 If you call that number the recording says that it Legal Affair. The are so stupid that they use the same name and phone number for all of their calls. They are very rude and try to intimidate you.  Right now I'm filing a complain with the IRS. These people need to be stop

I got a call from this number today! A message was left on my answering machine. The man left No name. He had a strong accent. He  just said that he was trying to contact me and stated my name and his reason for contacting me was due to a legal matter and that if I do not return the call it will turn into a legal mess.

Received  message on phone machine from an "Ave Modin" with a heavy accent (guessing  Filipino) who left  a contact number (914) 3640-9546.  My caller ID showed the number he called from was a El Paso TX number (915)317-4924.   He  claimed  to work for the Department of Treasury , Legal Affairs, and left a cryptic message concerning an unnamed Federal criminal action and that the unnamed individual the he was "intending" to contact needed to call him back to "let them help you." The message was almost unintelligible given the callers garbled accent and cell call connection.  I know enough about the law to know that the call was bogus, but I called back the number out of curiosity and got an answering machine with a full mailbox. I put a block on the number and hopefully that will be the last I hear from Ave or Dave.  

I just got this same call from a 914-401-1776 stating they were with the US Treasury Department and was regarding a criminal offense found from the property tax department - funny I don't pay property tax to the Federal Government - unreal!

This number called me at 4:30 in the morning ! From others who took the call saying it's a scam
