Normally, I don't answer the phone from numbers I don't know, but on this one, the caller ID said "Ossining, NY" where we used to live till about 8 months ago, so I answered. (It did not show the area code, by the way.) A young woman's voice said rather peremptorily, "I need to speak to whoever manages the utility bill." She did not sound like a robot or mechanical voice, i.e., I think there was a real person at the other end of the line.
   I coldly replied, "No, you don't. And take our number off your list." No response, (but  of course, she could have just been recording, "Aha, a live one." ) I hung up.
   However, when I checked here and only Calvin's s report was here, I went to Whitepages.com and found out that the number belonged to a MOBILE phone in the Ossining/Briarcliff NY area!
   So what gives? Are scammers using cell phones now? Or is it possible she was on the line holding for someone else (like Con-Edison, the electric/gas company in that area) and somehow she got kicked over to our number?
   We'll see. If I get more calls from this number, I'll post back. In the meantime, I'm going back to the old mantra I tell myself, "If you don't recognize the name/number, don't answer--it they're legit, they'll leave a message and you can call back."

I received a call from a female requesting to speak to the person responsible for the utility bill. I asked what this call was in refrence to. She claimed that she represented a company who distrubutes con- Edison's gas and electricity. She claimed that I would see a deduction in my monthly bill, if I simply gave her the name, account number and address on the account. I told her that she should have that information if her company worked with coned. She claimed she needed me to repeat the information to protect them from fraud. What a joke!! Long story short, after going back and forth with this unprofessional winch; I sternly advised her never to call my home again.
         I suggest that anyone dealing with this number, should ask the person to send what they claim in writing. I bet they'll come up with all the reasons why they can't send it or already have sent it.

& you can't call it back!!! Hmmmm?!! All those utility companies claiming to save for carrying delivery etc charges are a scam!!! What number is this and why is it still happening?!

same exact thing keeps happening with my wife and i, i went as far as to send the a txt message claiming to be a fedral agent and demanding they answer or i'd track thier phone but nothing. i'm sick and tired of these [***] who do i report this to? the cops? the feds? i want these guys taken down because i'm assuming their using this info for insidious purposes and elderly and/or mentally handicaped people are the only ones who would fall for it. it makes me sick!!!

three calls

Just received a call from this number for the third time. The first time I made the mistake of answering it. I to was prompted with a request to speak to who handles the utility bills in the household. I requested they never call back.. as you see my request was not granted.. put them on the do not answer list on my phone...

Five times called me on  my cell phone, I wish I knew how to block numbers

Called me several times a day. I answered and they hung up. So I called back and they gave me an option to be added to the DNC list. I selected it and hung up. Hopefully I wont be receiving any calls from them anymore.

Keep calling constantly.

GOT A CALL EARLIER FROM THIS NUMBER ON MY CELL. CALLED THIS NUMBER BACK FROM A DIFFERENT PHONE.  SAID "ACM EDUCATION".  PRESS 1 TO BE ADDED TO DO NOT CALL LIST.

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.  I BLOCKED IT.  WE WILL SEE.

Received a phone call from this number, did not answer.  I have received over 30 calls over the past two weeks from various numbers with different area codes, including this one, to my cell.  It is extremely aggravating.
