I got a call from this number saying Texas workforce commission we need your social security number

Received this call at 5:45 pm from a lady who said her name was Lilly Anjalu calling from the Texas workforce commission and she asked for my date of birth and social security number.  I was immediately suspicious because TWC closes at 5:00, and there was no reason for them to be calling, especially so late in the day, AND a TWC in El Paso, TX??   I have never been to El Paso, TX.  I then started  asking her a bunch of questions.

A woman named "Lilly" claimed to be with TWC. She immediately asked for all my personal details including social security number. I asked if I could call her back on a published number. She gave me two 1-800 numbers. One is completely unregistered. There is literally no information on the web about it, as if it has never been in service. The other is registered to a Christian Transportation company in North Carolina. This 915 number in El Paso is the one she called from and it appears to be a residential land line. Clearly this is a scammer. I assume they are getting our information from workintexas.com. They simply sign up as an employer and go after high earners to get their phone numbers.

I got a call today from this lady named Lily portraying to be working for TWC and I thought it was legit and gave her my info. Called from 915 area code

Scam!!. Got a call from this number asking for personal information. Claims to be from Texas Workforce Commission. Hung up. Called back and left a voicemail with a threat. No way that they are so busy and she would leave a voicemail providing a direct line to a fake number to call back.

Suspicious and scammy. Received a call from “Lilly” as well from this number. She asked me to confirm my date of birth, address, and last 4 digits of my social security number. I immediately began to get suspicious because she didn’t sound professional and had one of those raspy cigarette chain smoker voices. I told her I wasn’t giving her that information because there are too many scams going on and she started to rush and talk over me. She gave me the 800 number (and her extension and to ask for her) and a date and time she would need to speak back with me. The 800 number she gave me was indeed for TWC because I went to their website to get THEIR listed “contact us” number to call them back directly. There is no option to enter an extension of any sort. Beware and always use your common sense!

Received a call from this number. Claimed to be from Texas Workforce Commission, but answered Workforce commission. When I grilled him he said he was trying to help and said someone claimed unemployment on my ssn. Believe this is a scam.

Did they use your info in any scams

A woman Named Veronica Madrid called me from this number trying to ask me questions about the employer I had.
I explained to her I wanted to call TWC first because I never received a letter in the mail.

Received a call from Erika Guerra from 915-832-6421 at 5:49 pm on 12/21/22 stated from TWC calling to investigate  a past employer and ask questions. Informed her all info provided to TWC.   She asked for social security# . Told her TWC office is closed, she stated working from El Paso, TX and had until 9/27/22 to return call to her.  Told her did not feel comfortable with the call.
