Called me twice today on my cell. Didn't answer. No message. Blocking

Called me 2 times. Hung up. Blocked it!

Called my cell last night, no message - guess I'll block as well.
Sure seems like as much as the government wants to crack down on us for every little thing now they could be doing a little more to relate this crap?   :/

A Murietan and police officer who needs to keep his identity private wants the community to know about a new scam:

I got a call from 916-259-3229 stating they were contracted with SMUD and PG&E in regards to contact homes that have been flagged for high energy consumption, mine being one of them. (I'm sorry I didn't catch the name of the company.) Which makes sense as our homes are older and not as energy efficient. I paid $240 last month for my home and my neighbors was over $500. They asked a few basic questions like do you have single pane windows, are you the homeowner, how old is your heater/AC unit, etc. She then told me they were going to have State Inspectors on the street tomorrow to come check your home for places to improve and they would have their State ID with them. Seemed semi legit because SMUD does do something similar, but you have to contact them, and I have never heard of a State Inspector, typically they are city or county inspectors. So they scheduled me for 4PM.

I hung up and thought to myself, I would think SMUD would have sent me something with my bill or an email. So I called SMUD. Surprise there, they didn't have record of that number for any inside or outside contractors that were associated with them. I was then switched over to their fraud investigation department to rehash the story. They also said they, SMUD, would have put a door hanger on our front door, or sent an email or something with the bill.

I finished with them and tried to call the number back to cancel and got nowhere, bad number. There's not a whole lot on reverse look up on the internet for that number either. So I just want to put it out there that there's a scam going around and if anyone else gets this, to just hang up. They came in and inspect your house casing it for your valuables, you may even get charged for the "inspection".

Receiving calls too- they're calling every 10 minutes, leaving no message. Blocking the number.

Called landline at 11:11 am. No message left. CID shows Loomis, CA. Now blocked.

I got a phone call from this number. They asked if I lived at an address that I have not lived at in 10 years. But had given me the same PG&E scam. When I said I didn't live at that address he hung up.

No message left so I Googled it and read the comments on this board...BLOCKED!

Yep, me too.  Call came from Loomis and then another just 30 minutes later.  Grrrrrr.

Called once, I did not answer. Called a second time within 30 mins. I answered, they asked for my husband by name. I offered to take a message and they stated "no message at this time" and hung up. BLOCKED.

Never gave me a name and never said who they're representing. Told me they're calling because certain houses in the area are flagged for higher energy use; asking to speak to the homeowner. I'm not the homeowner; told them to shove it and never call me again. Spam caller!

They called me this week asking for my ex wife, and mispronouncing her name as well. Told them that she was no longer my wife and he apologized and rang off.

Claimed to be some kind of "energy" company.  Asked for me by name and then if I stilled lived at an address I have not lived at for more than 10 years.  I said "Yes, I still live there, but this isn't a good time as I'm at work."  He said "Well don't answer your phone at work then!" and hung up on me...  Now I'm thinking his goal is merely to try and confirm if you live at the address he has on file.

Scammers according to other reports I have seen. Do not answer or give out info to them.

Scammer. Is a Google number. Just another lifeless.

Phone rang.. Called ID showed as "Scam Likely (916) 259-3229 Loomis, CA". When I answered they asked if a Mr. or Mrs. (Insert poor attempt at pronouncing my last name) was there. I told them, no they had the wrong number. Gentleman said, he was sorry and would remove my number from their list.

I have an iPhone 7... and this number we not saved in my phone... so if this is out future "Scam" Call show up... It will be extremely helpful!

Called the number back from a different phone - No Answer, Google Voice Number...

Said they were with Reno Energy or something like that. Asked to speak with a person who has recently passed away. Referenced a property that had not been in the deceased person's name for at least 15 years. Definitely seemed like they were trying to scam a relative of a recently deceased person.

Got a call but they hung up before responding
