Seems like a new fake number from the scum freaks of the world - this was all I could dig up quickly - least y'all know it's the bad guys at work again: "Caution, 916-469-1398 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain"

Third telemarketer call have had today.  All were from numbers that have not called before.  Pressed hangup button immediately after the answer button.

Just got a call...have ans mach set to 2 rings.  Calls seem to stop with that setting.  It costs them money!

new scammer.  this one left a voicemail offering refi.  the violations just abound: on the do-not-call list abd they're calling using a completely automated system.  Calling back the number (Sacremento) gets me a voicemail (because of the "overwhelming call volume") that asks me to leave my name and number.  VM says they're the Harp program. http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/programs/lower-rates/Pages/harp.aspx but obviously they're not, since last time I checked, the fed gov't didn't make cold-calls.  That page says program is available through your mortgage company, and this company isn't my mortgage company.  scam.

Another violator of the DO NOT CALL LIST. As mentioned above these scummy trash people do not even identify themselves as a legitimate company on caller ID - just a number 916-469-1398. Any reputable company will identify their organization name on caller ID - not hide behind some BS number. Don't even respond to these a**hol*es.

Telemarketer try to steal your money with a refi scam. Report to your Attorney General and the FTC.  DoNotCall is now worthless and ineffective.

For a while I stopped receiving calls from this worm . . . But now I just received a call . . . It only rang two times and then it stopped.  I would not answer it . . . I recognized it from before . . . A few months ago . . . I think.

Out of Area call.  Not answered.  From comments appears to be junk.

Called twice within a 4 minute period. Caller ID says Out of Area. Leaves no message.

[***] company with [***] employees. They want you to press some keys so they can prove you're willing to accept their calls. Don't press anything. When they call, answer the phone and yell, "I had The Sex with your mother!"

I keep a referee whistle nearby and blow as loudly as possible into phone when I receive these kind of calls...
