Got a call saying I committed Internet fraud saying I said I made $6,000 a month on payday application! They said either by mistake it's illegal and if I didn't pay $4000 I would go to jail for 9 years! They even had someone calll and say they were local police! I would go to jail for 9 yrs if I didn't pay!

Person called and said he has an affidavit against me for criminal charges.  I told him to mail whatever information he had to me.  Who do I need contact to stop these harassing phone calls.  

THEY CONTINUE TO CALL MY JOB AND CELLPHONE BACK TO BACK SAYING IM IN DEBT 2,997.67 ND IF I WASNT TO PAY THAT I WILL GO TO JAIL FOR 7 YEARS , THREATENED MY BOSS TO WHY DIDNT SHE GIVE ME THE MESSAGE AND THAT SHE WAS GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE. STATED THEY WERE GOING TO SEND 7 POLICE OFFICERS TO MY JOB TO ARREST ME ND THAT IF I AGREED TO PAY DONT DISCUSS IT WITH NOBODY AND DONT TELL NOBODY. i ASKED FOR HIS NAME ND HE SAID IT WAS GEORGE BLOWSKI AND DON ROGERS.

This guy is an complete idiot he called me a total of 9 times on my phone and Mr. Gary Hudson from the Sacramento Attoney general office threatening me with a warrant that I will be arrest. How horrible? They are a scammer and have no business doing this to me. Please everytime he calls he knows and there company are scammers. how do you stop them from calling?

I got a call last week from some middle eastern/Indian guy claiming he was from the Attorney Generals office in Sacramento California (916 469-7023) (916 469-6344) and that I was under investigation by the cyber diversion of the FBI for trying to obtain money from putting fraudulent information on  payday loan applications. There was a voice mail left on my phone to call right away concerning charges filed against me and my social security number had been flagged for fraudulent activity. When I head that it really scarred me, so I called back the number. The guy that answered had a heavy middle eastern/Indian accent and claimed he was from the Attorney Generals office and that an officer of the law was on the other line listening. He went into the charges and read me some legal statues that I had violated and I was going to be arrested today and asked me where an officer of the law could come to arrest me. He went on about how I could go to jail for 7 years and I would lose my job unless I made an arrangement. He also said not to yell or get upset, then he put me on hold as he went to talk to the officer on line. I hung up after being on hold. Then a few minutes later some lady calls me saying she is  from the local police department and where can she meet me to arrest me. She said she was listening on the phone call with the guy from the Attorney Generals office. If I wanted to avoid being arrested I could work out something. I told her that I did not talk to the AG about any arrangement and she got mad and she was listening on the phone call and why did I hang up. She said you have 2 minutes to call the guy from the AG office and make arrangements or she was going to come and arrest me. I didn't call back as I was so unnerved by the whole experience. I thought about it and came to my senses. I remembered seeing the same kind of scam mentioned on local news but having to do with the IRS and back taxes.  I called back the number the officer used to call me and I got a recording that it was the non emergency number of the local police department and to leave a message. I wondered how did the scammer make it sound like they were calling from the police department. Also how did they have all the information about me like my social, work info, and home address. It then dawned on me that I had filled out an application weeks ago for a short term loan.  I was pretty sure this was some scam to shake me down for money, but there some doubt so I googled the number and got this site. Now I know for sure it was a scam to try and shake me down for money.

Get a call blocker.   Amazon has them.  Also don't pick up on numbers you don't recognize.

Fraudulent or Zombie Debt Collectors—Things to Know

If you have received a call stating:

1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you
7.  Anything similar to above,
 a.   Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
 b.   Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are   filing a complaint with the  appropriate authorities
* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage     http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
* File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency).    [abstracted from another site]

They cannot be stopped.  The calls originate from India and they are beyond the reach of US laws.  Call blocker is your best bet.
