This number called twice. The person, a foreigner, claimed to be with the Dept. of Revenue and said my name was brought up for Income Tax evasion. He asked if I received the notice in the mail. I hung up on him. A week later he calls again and again he asks me if I got the notice in the mail. Like a fool I went back and forth arguing with this idiot. He said I should get a lawyer to defend myself. He also gave me the name of the person at the Dept. of Revenue who originally got my name. He said it was an Ethan Smith at 916-469-7494. For the hell of it, I called and got another foreigh person who said all the lines were busy and to call back. The person's name who originally called was Nelson. WTFk!!!!!

This is a scammer. This person had a strong foreign accent and broken English, claiming to be Mark Anderson with the Dept. of Legal Affairs, U.S. Treasury. He claims someone has filed law enforcement action against my husband and suggests we return the call immediately or have an attorney call, and that if we delay acting we may find ourselves in a legal mess. Don't believe a word of it. They are phishing for info and/or payment of something we don't owe. This is not how government agencies work. My husband works in law enforcement. If there was law enforcement action pending against him, he'd know. And they wouldn't call us on the phone. They'd be at the door.

Received a voice mail so called back. I was wanting to make sure it was a scam and not something for real. When I gave my number and they found it I knew since that number isn't for important business. He never stated that he was recording which government agencies do. When I asked of he sent something in the mail he wanted to read something, which I'm sure was to scare me, not going to happen. Then started talking crazy and rude asking if I was ever going to ask him a question. Which I replied if you would listen you would have heard the question. I ask what address and he gave one that was years old it was 100% confirm. Oh did I forget that none of them are from the US. As he was trying to yell to get me to comply I said F@$& You and hung up. Best laugh all week.

Called Michigan and said he was Nelson Conner from Dept of Legal Affairs.  He didn't really sound like Nelson Conner.
