Just received a phone call from this number 916-469-8861 this guy calling with heavy accent claims he is from the Atty General's Office and he claims that I need to call back regarding my case. He didn't leave me a case# or what the reason I am being sued for. Is this for real? I have been receiving calls for odd numbers these past couple of weeks. This is so annoying.

It's a real scam.  These are scammer/extortionists working out of India.

Anytime you receive a phone call from someone with an Indian accent either threatening you or offering you something you can be pretty sure it's a scam.  Nothing against Indians, that's just the way it is now.

You might invest in a call blocker.  Also, do not pick up on phone numbers you do not recognize.

Thank you these past few weeks I have been getting so many calls from people with Indian accents stating that they are from Atty's Office and that I owe money due to unpaid Pay Day Loan which I don't recall. And they are stating in their voicemail messages that the Sheriff's office will come to my work and or home if I don't return their calls.

I don't know what to do. Should I just disregard and block their phone numbers?

Called my phone this morning and said I owe him money he needs to be arrested! !!

A man with a heavy accent identifying himself as Andy William (right) called my work looking for an employee. He indicated that he was with the Legal Dept. of the State Attorney.  Andy wanted the employee to send money and verify her social security number and if she did not by the end of the day the sheriff would pay a visit to her home or business.

Received a call from this number 916-469-8861 this morning and the last few days  stating they are from the attorney generals office from Sacramento ,Ca ,claiming they have legal case against me for fraud  an and if  I have an attorney to represent me or I will be arrested and be prosecuted and sent to jail  I then asked him send me the case number and legal paperwork so my attorney can see what im being charged with I then said i will be contacting FBI on this matter he hang up this is a scam not not believe this whoever is receiving these calls

I received a call from Mike Foster from this number. He had the last 4 #'s of my SS# and also stated that if I do not call i am going to jail and that i am in big trouble...did not call since reading all the posts. thank you for all the input

I suggest everyone that is getting this phone call to make a police report with your local police station I am also forwarding this to the FBI for the fact that they read my social security number off to me. I have been calling them all day and they keep hanging up and then when I finally talked to the guy and told him to google his own phone number and look at the reports and that I was informing the FBI he said oh well you don't have proof and hung up in my face. They called my phone for 8 hours straight and so since they want to play on my phone and try to scam me I am going to continue to call them non stop. People are sick can't get money the legit way by getting a job you have to steal SSN to scam money off people.  I would also suggest you all run your credit report and check for fraud things because I keep getting phone calls from payday loan places stating I applied for a payday loan and I have not so I think that is what they are trying to do is get pay day loans in peoples name. Im not letting this go I will see it through because this is ridiculous on how they continue to harrass me. SCAMMERS

Called me saying they were with Attorney generals office and I had better call back or have great legal troubles. Said they had my SSN. Thick voice man.  I blocked caller and not calling back

Called the number several times and spoke with various people. I stated I knew it was a scam and they needed to remove the number. They got angry and kept hanging up on me. They asked who they had called for, I told them I did not know cause I could not understand their accent.

[***] these [***] trying to say i comitted a fraud and demanding me to pay $4,200 or else he was gonna send the police to arrest me.. When i asked about there info they hung up on me several times...

keep getting calls from this number at work they claim they are the attorney general obviously they are not

This number called and said some offensive things to my coworker. They claimed to be debt collectors at first. Its a scam.

Caller asked for 1 of our employees, very hard to understand. Claimed to be a paralegal in the State Attorneys office. Threatened with loss of our biz license.

I received an email today saying there was a warrant for me from the united states district court and it was signed by a judge by the name of laura a neiser or weiser and it was sent by a man by the name of eric marshall and the phone number on the email was 206-297-2978. they basically were asking me to settle before I was arrested. did anyone get a similar notice, trying to decided if this is a scam.  I thinking so cause I really don't think something like this would be sent by email.

Have been calling in my child's phone numerous times and saying they are from the IRS! Harassing about being in trouble if they do not resolve the issue with the IRS. The connection is bad and thick accents and hangs up in you!
