I received similar message yesterday..email and work. Total scam the person with Indian accent claim to be John Smith Cooper.

I had this happen to me for a second time. A man called my phone several times. When I finally answered he said that he was calling regarding a legal matter and that there was money fraud charges attached to my social security number. He told me that I should contact their head lawyer, Thomas Lynch, or have my attorney contact him immediately. He actually gave me an address in Sacramento, which I unfortunately was not able to write down.

This same group tried to do this to me a few months ago and even went as far as contacting my employer. When I actually called the attorney general's office (at the legit number that I looked up online), what they told me is that it is a total scam. If it was real, basically they would have just come and picked me up, not called and warned me about the charges. He said that these scams are going on all the time. Unfortunately, because they are located overseas, there isn't much that can be done. But, please, don't fall for this!

I received the same phone call. Saying that I had a leagal matter and contact the head lawyer, Thomas Lynch. Gave me a numer of  916-469-7510

I got the same thing to day they even got a way where there number come up a the police dept where i live it was a lady  saying she had a warrant fir me when she hung up i call the police dept back and talt to the officer he said he had no one in his office and it was a scam dont send them money

Received 5 calls today. I've learned though the last place that tried to scam me to google the phone numbers first. I'm very thankful to everyone for putting their comments on here so that all of us who are being harassed will not fall for these people. The person who contacted me told me the same thing I've been reading on the posts. I'm at the point now where I google all the phone numbers of people who call me and leave me rude messages to make sure they are scams!
