I called back and they answered the phone :Internal Revenue Service". I asked why are you calling me, they asked my name, I only gave my first name, they asked again, I only gave my first name again and then they hung up.

- ThomasReceived recorded call to call them from one of my old numbers about an IRS claim. When I called the rep said his name was Larry Hagar and I gave a different number. He said my driving privilege was being revoked and he was sending a sheriff to have me arrested unless I paid a $3400 fine. Fraud. Now I have received 3 calls to my other number.

- JohnReceived a robo call with a phone number identifying themselves as the IRS. When I called it back they asked my name and when I told them asked if I lived at a certain address which was my address. They asked me to hold and said that someone wanted to talk to me, please hold. I waited for a few minutes and it disconnected. The guy I was talking to had a heavy India accent. It felt like a scam but they did not ask for anything
- Caller: Said IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- GinaTOTAL SCAM! Don't fall for it!
Was left an automated, robo voicemail this morning (10/2/15) about
proceeding with a legal notice in a legal way".....some legal notice and legal consequences if I didn't call them back. I've been getting a lot of "spammy" calls this past year so I am pretty sure some site got hacked or leaked and my personal contact information is just floating around out there for the taking.
If the IRS wants to contact you regarding debt collection or whatever issues that might arise, they would most likely send it through the mail, rather than call you.- Caller: Listed as Main District Attorney for CA
- Call type: Debt collector
- King| 1 replyCalled me 3 times this morning within 15 minutes. I picked up 2 times and there's no sound and then a recorded female voice "goodbye". I called the number back 2 times and both times dropped me to a voicemail. Of course I didn't leave anything. Very annoying!
- Caller: Didn't say
- Mary AnneReceived a robo call telling me that an 11A had been filed against me by the IRS. If I didn't call them back there would be legal consequences. He said the IRS would never call you over the phone, especially to get information.
