This is a cross post, since this number was given as a call back number.
A woman called my office saying that my business was pre-approved for capital loans with no collateral (sounds too good to be true). I asked her to repeat the name of the business, but she did not. She asked me if I could "make financial decisions for the business." I told her that we are run by a board (which is true).
I asked for a call back number for the purpose of looking it up. She gave me (917) 210-7226. I asked her why the callback number was from a different area code in another part of the country then the number on my caller ID (419 is Ohio and 917 is New York). She told me there was something wrong with the phone system. I told her that it didn't make sense. She must have realized that I was onto her scam because she hung up.

They keep calling on this and similar numbers telling me I'm pre-approved for Capital Loans for my business. I'm not looking for ANY loans as I'm trying to rebuild my credit rating following a lengthy and messy divorce, and I'm mostly retired and taking "gig" jobs and freelance writing
