Got am alarming phone call at 10am on a Sunday - that my brother was in a car accident near a gas station with this guys cuzin and that they beet him up and have him hostage in an apartmen complex near by the, and they will kill him if I don't pay them $500.00. I must go to a western union and give my phone to the teller who will take the information down and send the money. Only after that will he drop my brother off at a near by hospital. (Mayjor Scamm) Calls speaking spanish says he is from Puerto Rico and her illegally.

Same thing just happened here to my lil sister.  I called the cops and they are aware of this scam coming from puerto rico.

I also recieved a call from (917-319-4190) friday around 10AM while i am at work!!!! The same thing happened to me. He said he name was Carlos Rodrodriguez from Bayamon Puertorico zip 00728. He also gave me the story and that his cousin Junito is the one that was holding my brother hostage until I Western Union the Money ($600.00) Then they will tell me where my brother was. I was extremly overwhelmed and frantic for a while unitil i heard my brothers voice and that he was ok. After that I hung up and tried to get the most out of them by asking questions ( I got a name and a location) So definetly the call from a new york number and they want to western union in Puertorico. They are really good scammers and very manipulative. The entire call was extremly realistic and had me emotionally messed up!!! I really hope that these people one day will get caught and pay for the hell they are making thousands of people go through. I feel so sad for the people that really go thru this and go forward with it and loose out on funds because of these fools. I did some research and found out that this has been happening for the last year and not many poeople know about it. So I am doing my job of educating all that I know and advise to be aware of this can happen to them.  
I pray to GOD that they get caught really soon.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!! SAYS THEY HAVE A RELATIVE DUE TO SOME TYPE OF INCIDENT (CAR ACCIDENT) AND THEN SAYS THEY NEED MONEY OR IS HOLDING THAT PERSON HOSTAGE UNLESS YOU WIRE MONEY VIA CVS OR RITEAID.

I too got a call from 9173194190, and thank godness for csi and all the real life shows about kidnapping.  They said my daughter had been in a car accident and threaten them with the police and they were running away from the police in puerto rico and they didnt want any problems with the police here.  That they wanted $1000.00 if I wanted to see my daughter again.  I winged it and said, "I guess I will not be seeing here again because I dont have that kind of money, at which time they asked me how much I had, now I was in control and not them.  I said I needed to call her dad to help me gather the funds, at which time I did call her dad to explain what was going on but it also gave me time to call the police on a different phone...they must of called like 4 times and I answered the last call and told them off and that I was on the other line trying to get the money,  i then called my daughter at work and there she was.  The police can not proceed with this incident because it was only a phone scam, BUT FOR THOSE THAT ACTUALLY PROCEED TO SEND THEM MONEY VIA WESTERN UNION, YOU NEED TO CONTACT THE POLICE SO THAT THEY CAN CATCH THIS PUERTO RICAN CREEP OUT OF NEW YORK. THIS [***] ARE GIVING PUERTO RICO AND ITS CITIZENS A BAD NAME.  Please contact the POLICE if you have been scammed.

I also recieved a call from (917-319-4190) Monday around 5pm
The number is a New York City number. This man called in stating that someone I know was in an accident and that he got the number from his phone. When I asked who this was and who he was looking for, He got upset and started speaking in spanish. He asked why so many questions and he, then started getting upset so, I hung up on him.  I figured it was a scam. People are desperate it's sad!

I received a phone call from this number this afternoon telling my son was in a car accident with him and he couldnt call the police because he is a prison escapee and he is in a gang. He had my son tied up and wounded and he demanded $700 dollars from me and to western union the money. My phone wouldnt answer the phone at the moment so for about 30 minutes I assumed it was true. I called the police and i kept on calling my son until he finally picked up and I realized it was a scam.  I cursed out the guy and he hung up.  PLEASE BE CAREFUL EVERYONE...DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!!!

Got a phone call from 917-319-4190 this morning from a man with a heavy Latin accent. He told me his name and said my husband had been in a car accident. I asked him who he wanted to speak with, I thought maybe he had the wrong number. He didn't give me my name, he just said, "YOU, Ma'am. I'm looking to speak with YOU. Do you have a husband? Does he drive? What is his name?"

Red flag, red flag, red flag.

I said, "YOU are calling ME to tell me my husband has been in a car accident? YOU tell ME his name!"

The guy got annoyed and said, "Never mind, forget this!" and hung up.

Always ask callers like this for names; they won't be able to give you any, so you know the call is a scam!

I also received the same call from the same number from a Puerto Rican, he try to do it first with a different number(732.814.9500). But he fail with me, I file a Police Report on the two numbers.

Guy called and said there had been an accident involving my husband. They were holding him hostage until I sent them $1500. When I hung up they kept calling me back.even sent a text saying my husband was going to pay

Got a call from them indicating my dad smashed his brother's car, he is involved with drugs and don't want police involved. He was demanding cash. i freaked out and called my dad but he was fine.  fortunately I didn't give them any money

A guy by the name Robert called me on Tues, Nov 5th.. From cell phone number 917-319-4190 He told me that my brother was in a car accident with his brother and the damage would be 2,000 dollars and that his brother is crazy and wants to kill my brother unless someone wires him the money... hung up the phone and called my brother he was at home and his car was in the shop.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THESE LOWLIFE PEOPLE!!!

I received. A call on Monday Nov,12 2012 from 917-319-4190. At around noon,,, the caller sounded like a spsnish man. He said my sister had been in a car accident with his brother and that she wanted to call the police but his brother wanted to handle it then and there, he then said his brother pulled out a gun and was holding my sister against her will but not to worry about rape or anything because there was a female present and there not people like that.  I called my sister while I had him on the phone and she said she was fine and at home. Please beware of these sick people.........

Sunday, December 30 at 4:01 AM I received 2 prank texts from Cingular Wireless Customer
phone number 574-326-8574.  The first was just a mock smile and the second refereed to me as "hey s%$#^#"  Mostly annoying.  I traced the number and only was able to locate the city and company of this irritant.  If anyone else reads this you have my permission to call/text this idiot back and remind them that misuse of a phone in this way can be criminal.

Same thing just happend to me today. Same story as all the rest.  It was so scary
