I have gotten a call 3/4/2011 3:30 PM from (917)398-5568. They said they are calling from the Greer Institute, because I have filled a form. But I have never done it!  Even did not know this institute exists. When I asked where they picked up my phone number, they hang up. I am unlisted and on the do not call registry list. I have reported it to the Do Not Call [888]382-1222[run by FTC], as I am on the list. Hope they will do something and in the mean time this is so bad I have to unplug my phone. They need stricter laws and better enforcement.

call your telephone service provider and/or cell phone provider to report the unrequested texts - you will get charged for them at a premium.  I called my provider and they took the charges off and blocked the offenders - so far, none have appeared back

All you have to do is call the # back from the phone that you received the call. You will get a recording, press 2 to be removed from the calling list. It's not a governmental conspiracy people. This company didn't just get your # out of the blue, especially if they call your cell phone because cell phone numbers are not published. In order for them to call you you would have had to provide your # to something affiliated with this Institute. I took real estate classes and got my license, they received my # from some forms I filled out.

I received a call shortly after 8AM and the caller asked for me by name. He said his name was "Nathan" and that he was responding to an on-line form that I had filled out for career advancement. I asked "When did I fill out this form?" He tried to derail my question by asking me questions which I did not answer. I asked again and he replied "I don't have that information in front of me." I asked "What business do you represent and where are you calling from?" He replied "I'm representing the Career Institute and calling from Utah (if I remember correctly)." I told him "I received a call about and 5-6 weeks ago about this same subject and the caller said I would receive a call within 3 days from a local college to discuss my schooling options. I never received that follow-up phone call. He said he knew nothing about that. I told him that I did not trust him and therefore I would not answer any questions. He replied "So...you're not interested in what we have to offer?" "Yes, I'm not interested." He concluded by saying that he would remove my name and number from the calling list. End of call. We'll see what happens...

I got called by this number, they left no messge.

I looked it to a ad for "Direct TV" and "The Dish Network" now I am starting to get these phone calls from these 800'd numbers and others. I will no longer call these places from my Cell Phone again....

Received a call- the voice sounded like a computer but he interacted with me.
Robot Voice "May I speak with Joyce"
Me "Sorry no Joyce at this number"
Robot Voice "Sorry to bother you-have a nice day"

If you filled out an online form for a payday loan, the telephone number you put down or e-mail will be sold to other companies and you will be spammed. You will get companies texting, calling, or e-mailing you about their payday loans continuously.

I have been receiving odd calls for some time and I always check for the area code to see if anyone I know lives there.  At least when they call your home phone u don't get charged for it.  Why doesn't the government control this?

I received a phone call at about 2pm today...I have no Idea who it is but when I did a reverse search it said the number was coming from New York.  They left no message, but when I tried calling it back there was no answer.  I don't have the time for stupid people!

they are calling me also. my caller ID says "online careers", but who the hell knows.the DO NOT CALL registry does nothing, another gov't meaningless trick to put a few thousand of thier friends on the taxpayers payroll.one of these days, hopefully, these [***] will get what they got coming.I believe in karma.

Got call from this number on cell phone, don't want to receive them again

thanks to all who posted. these bottom feeders have nothing better to do apparently.  If you use your cell phone as your home phone - be aware - it's now in the public domain as some of the people you regularly do proper business with (whether online or not) will sell the info to telemarketers.  Whether you filled out any questionnaire for these dipchitz or not, it's too late.  I get these kind of calls on an unlisted, unpublished MagicJack phone too.  So it isn't just the cell phones.  If you have ever completed a form with a phone number the do not call list no longer applies.  I never answer and if they don't leave a message then I don't bother.  It is irritating and frustrating -- and costly if one has limited minutes.

i got the same message this morning. Started calling at 8:30. They said I filled out a form to further my education. That is silly since I am already going to school.
Apparently the NO THANK YOU at the bottom of the page does not count.
What i was doing was looking for a job from snagajob.com. They have offers apparently before you can apply for a job.
No Thank You means no thank you!
