- Fuss about Phone| 4 repliesThis recorded "solicitation" states that I had previously completed a survey, and that as a "thank you" they were giving me a "$2000.00 Reward, that is applied to a vacation resort stay in Cancun, Mexico." QUITE OBVIOUSLY this is no "reward" at all, rather a SCAM to get us to purchase services from their travel company or resort.
I don't recall completing ANY surveys for a very long time, as I know most of them are a form of solicitation, or information gathering SCAM.
I did NOT ask to be solicited by this company for any reason, and they have called more than once to my PRIVATE MOBILE PHONE#.
(My understanding is that telemarketers and the like, are NOT allowed to solicit you via any telephone line that you incur a fee based on usage, i.e. cell phone bills that charge by the minute, or by the text message.)
To be "Removed" from their list, you must sit through approx. 90 seconds of sales pitching to enter your telephone# for removal, at which point it tells you your number is removed and hangs up on you.
THERE IS NO OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TO A LIVE REPRESENTATIVE, MANAGER, OR FIND OUT THE NAME/LOCATION/CONTACT INFORMATION OF THEIR COMPANY/ORGANIZATION.- Caller: UNIDENTIFIED/UNKNOWN

I called back the number: (917) 398 9559. A female voice w/ heavy southern accent answered with something along the lines of: "Congratulations on receiving you $2500.00 twards your trip to Cancun, blah blah..." Then she went right into an information gathering "interview" under the guise that "for to process my reward/vacation$ I must meet certain requirements"
I allowed her to finish speaking as she asked "Are you at least 25 years of age?"
I politely responded by asking to speak to her "call center manager"...
She stated "We do not have a manager," and asked "would you like to have you phone# removed?"
I replied by asking whom I was speaking with, and her response was to forward my call to recording that said "your number has been removed, good bye" and the call terminates.
I called back and they repeatedly hung up on me by picking up and hanging up the phone, not once "answering" the call. I attempted to speak to them aprrx 5 times, and got the same result.
I tried calling back from a blocked land line telephone, and rcvd the same "bye" click.
I then tried unblocking the landline# and calling again, but no matter what, all I get is "bye" click.

- AmI received a call from this number first, and then 404-891-5595 a few days later, also a telemarketer. Not sure how, but I believe the 2 numbers are connected with each another. Report them to the FCC. Use the on-line complaint form. According to the FCC website, telemarketers are not allowed to solicit cell phones, even if you haven't listed your cell number in the Do Not Call Registry.
