Called me several times in a row over the spam of two days. Don't pick up. Just block.

Caller ID came up Bayside NY. Indian man, heavy accent, asking to verify an employee. Gave me the last 4 digits of a social security number. We are a government building and I told him he needed to call our personnel dept. He mentioned the name of our nearest hospital so I gave him that number, he repeated it back a couple times and then he just hung up. I would say it’s absolutely a scam. Thank god for this website!

Called repeatedly to "verify" employment from 2017 for a Jessica Smith. Never heard of that person and refused to give out any information. The person was an Indian female with heavy accent. Told her we do not give out any information regarding any employees without written consent. Kept pressing me to give out my name, title, and other information. I refused. Told her mail in a consent and verification of employment to the address they have on file. If they don't have our business address I'm positive this so-called former employee can provide it to them. I informed them I knew it was a scam and would not be discussing anything further. Hung up.

We got the same thing and they are aggressive with calling and keep asking about a guy that has never worked for us. Definitely new it was a scam immediately after the second time calling.

Woman caller with a thick Indian accent calling from Bayside, NY. Wanted to know employment timeline for an employee we had discharged earlier this year. Wanted detailed info on type of work performed and if employee was full or part-time. Also wanted my name and job title. What are these scammers doing with this information?

Indian accent, poor connection, could only tell they were trying to verify employment.  Spelled a name but I couldn't hear well enough to understand who that would be.  I have no employees and have not employed anyone in over 20 years.  So, clearly not a legit call.

Called once and asked for employment verification for an employee that hasn't worked in 2 years.  I googled the number since caller ID didn't say Fedex, asked her why the number comes up as a scammer number, and she said that its a 3rd party number of Fedex.  I said we were not comfortable giving out any information and hung up.  She proceeded to call back 11 more times, finally got my tech department to block the number.
