Caller ID says New York number, last few days have been getting calls from different numbers pertaining to different states of which some messages are left from a male w/ Indian accent who claims "My name is Kevin Clark your loan application has been approved for a loan of $5000 in order to fund your account we need to confirm your accounting information" (leaves a NY c/b #), , apparently these are "magic jack/VOIP" calls, they are phishing scams for identity theft, around the holidays last year I was strapped for money and applied online to some payday loan referral companies, apparently these online loans are illegal so I never took one out but after some extensive research it turns out some of these companies have sold consumer information to questionable entities which leads to these types of calls...BEWARE!

I have gotten several of these same calls from some man (and I use that term lightly) with a thick mid-eastern accent claiming that my loan of $5,000 has been approved. . . WHAT LOAN? I have not applied for any type of loan, this ia just a scam. He leaves a call back number of 917-595-2334 and I was very tempted to call him back and raise holy hell but that would just feed them more so I just chose to ignore these calls. It does concern me that maybe they do have personal information, which is readily available, so I have my credit files blocked and monitor them closely. I suggest anyone who has received calls like this to monitor their credit files, put a block on them so no one can get or change that information and just block or ignore the calls. Eventually they will give up (I hope). If not, then keep a phone close to the toilet or a vacuum cleaner and when they call put the phone near the toilet and flush or next to the vacuum cleaner and turn it on. Or better yet, get an air horn and blow their freakin' ear drums out because these people deserve it!! They are terrorists and the scum of the earth.

I have been receiving the same phone calls for about a month. The same guy (peter smith) has been calling me about a loan for 2000.00. I've never applied for a loan. When I tried to Google the company an attorney office pulled up. So I decided to Google the number and that's when I found your post about the same situation. This is a SCAM. They take your identity and sell it over seas. Please ignore all calls from 917-595-2334.

I have been getting calls from this phone # 917-595-2334 and my phone says its from G W Financial, they left me a message and told me to cll them so they could get my account info LOL Not I called them and ask how they got my Number and they just said that i applyed online for this and i told them no I didnt and said it was people like me that apply for this then don't want it.  so it is a scam be carefull.

Which god?  Ganesh?  Shiva?  Cthulhu?  The Flying Spaghetti Monster?
