Received call, called back and was recording asking if wanted to be removed from promotion call list then press 1 to be put on do not call list.  Hope it works

Caller ID says US Merchants. It was a recorded message saying "Press 9 to hear the message".

Recording about merchant services, that asks you to hit "2" to be added to their do not call list. DO NOT ENTER A 2!!!

I think it verifies to them that there's a person on the other end, because shortly after I did that, I started getting junk calls from even more numbers. Shady ones too, like a 999 area code, and one that's not even 10 digits.
