Received a call from this number at 12:42 PM on 12/02/10 on my cell phone.  Didn't answer it as I didn't recognize the number.  I hit ignore so it would stop ringing.  Person or company never left any message.  Just came up with number on my screen, didn't say who it was from.

It's a debt relief agency. If you answer it acts like a real person, "Hi, how are you?", then goes into asking if you want to be debt free. I said no several times and it just keeps going I hungup and called the number back. It asks you to press 1 if you don't want the calls. I am on the do not call list but I am sure this is one of millions of exceptions to the law.

Yup, it is a "bot" ... faily sophisticated for this kind of thing ... and totally illegal.  Problem is tracing and prosecution.  Just hope their do not call isn't a suckers' list that simply establishes a list of numbers people actually answer.
