Said he was attorney mike Stevens and was proceeding to freeze my bank account and seize assets for an unpaid cash advance in the amount of 580. He wouldn't give me any details to this supposed loan. Said all would be frozen and/or seized in 48 working hours unless I paid 580 right now! I didn't pay but he has my name and address and email address. I don't know what to do

"IF they do not provide you with the verification of the debt, the debt is invalid and not subject to collection.  PAY NOTHING TO ANYBODY UNLESS THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH WRITTEN VERIFICATION OF THE DEBT, AND ONLY THEN IF YOU FEEL THE DEBT IS VALID - otherwise, let them sue you for the debt, as a real law firm will only bring a legal action on a truly valid debt".

I am receiving phone calls from this number. The caller says that is name is Andy Black, ( but he sounds East Indian) and that he is calling from the North Carolina sheriff's dept. He told me that I had THREE criminal charges against me for a loan from Cash Advance USA. I never had a loan from this company, in fact, payday loans are illegal in Georgia. So what can I do or what kind of information do I need to get to find out who these people are, and put an end to their harassment?

Well i got this mike stevens and andy black i notified the police in my city also in north carolina too.  So hopefully they want do this to any one else.

They left a voicemail on my cell phone telling me I had outstanding complaints against my name, didn't go into detail. Said I had to call them back or have an attorney call them. I called them back, talked to Andy Black first, he put me on hold and put me though to the other guy. Both of these guys had such heavy Indian accents it was hard to understand them. He asked my name and asked if I knew why they were calling. I told him I have never taken out any kind of cash loan and that he had to send me written verification of this debt. I then told him I have Google and know what they are doing and not to call me again. He said in a squeaky voice 'ok' and hung up.

I get up to 10 phone calls a day from his # I cann't understand a word they say,not a bad comment against a foreignor but if ou can't understand them so what I scream into the phone everytime they call  eventually it stops for the day but starts all over again the next day I don't give them a chance to speak I scream like I have torrets

Can the FBI get involve and prosecute this Andy Black posing as an officer of the courts. He is calling me making some serious accusation about Criminal activities involving my personal information. I believe he and his partners are stealing people's. Ientities.

I got a voicemail from this Andy Black guy posing as a officer from North Carolina. He said there is a suit against me. Well, I called back and what do you know the number was invalid. I wonder how these people get our names and cell phone numbers?????

I have been getting phone calls from a guy named Andy Black saying the same thing that I had a complaint against my name and social security number. And that I had a loan with a US Cash Advance and I don't! He said that if I didn't take care of it then they would contact the local sheriff's agency and have me picked up. So I called the Sherriff's dept in Raleigh North Carolina and reported it and they said that they did not know of an Attorney Mike Anderson or Officer Andy Black. So the Sherriff's office gave me their state attorney general's office number so that I could report it to them and they advised me to report it to my local agency.

I just got a call from this Number 9196591051 saying he was with the Sheriff department of NC. Then he couldn't give me the departments  code.

Same deal as all the other postings.  Then when we called them out on their scam they managed to call again and somehow got our local police departments administration number to show up on my caller i.d.  I called the police number back and filed a report, as they had suggested.  So, just FYI that somehow they can interject police department numbers into your caller ID.  When the guy with the india accent called back screaming at me I informed him I had made a police report and he screamed something else and hung up.  Guess we'll see what they have up their sleeve during the next round.  (And I was never arrested "within 30 minutes" like they said.....lol!!!!

This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

In the meantime, you are going to have to do whatever you can to protect yourself. That includes letting them know you are aware they are running a scam and are reporting them to the authorities.
