Obvious IRS scam, that actually left a voice mail (from a poorly done text to speech system).

Actually got2 of these calls today.  WTH??  The IRS does not phone numbers.  An a OBVIOUS SCAM of some sort.  I have been audited once before.  IRS DOESNT CALL U.  They send letters

I got a call from this number as well.  The guy hung up on me 4 times.  I figured out quickly that it was a scam, but decided to keep calling, because I wanted to cause this jerk a fraction of the annoyance and frustration he had caused me. When he picked up the 5th time, I said, "I'm going to take a wild guess...but I think as long as I tie up this phone line, you aren't able to scam anyone else, so that's what I'm going to keep doing." He got crappy with me and insisted he was from the IRS.  I then demanded to "speak to his manager" and he of course refused.  He then told me I was wanted for tax issues ranging over a 5 year period (I hadn't even given him my last name at this point, nor was I eligible to file taxes one of the years in question, so again, this guy is an idiot, and I basically told him something to that affect). Then he told me I could review the "warrant" out for my arrest at my local sheriff's department.

I of course called my local sheriff to report this [***], and they of course confirmed that this is a scam, and that the IRS wouldn't have bothered calling me. I attempted to then call the scammer back, just to rub it in that I was on to him - but the number has been disconnected.

The usual robo-message, "FINAL WARNING" "IRS suing you" etc etc. Called back, person answered and addressed himself as working for the IRS. Blocked the number and reported it to Treasury.

Caller left a message that they had been trying to reach me.  They were filing a lawsuit against and for information about a case.  I was to call them back at the department number left in the message.  I called back and when I refused to answer any questions until they gave me a case number so I could take it to our local IRS office to discuss on Monday they hung up the phone.  No question it was a scam call.  Have dealt with IRS before...they do not leave messages like the one left on my phone and they don't file lawsuits seeking information.

I get these calls twice a day then every other 2-3 days. Sometimes a guy calls, but mostly pre-recorded crap. I block the call & message but they call from another number. Next time I'll post that number on here..Personally I like to call back again and again and keep threatening their life and their family just to be a nuisance like they are. But, I wont do that  but I think about it..lol.. Annoying..

Got a call from this number saying they were the IRS.

I have been getting phone calls from this number for the past 3mo. This week  i decided to call back and spent 20min on the phone with these Bozos to gather information! An "officer" with a very heavy indian accent answered the phone asking for my full name and phone number. I Gave them a fake name and phone number, only to find out that they had an address for me on file, of course it was a fake address that they just pulled up from google based on the area code. I insisted that was not my address and the "officer" got nasty on the phone explaining that the sheriff had gone to my house multiple times and left a yellow slip on my door. Apparently I owe the government $70,000 in misfilled taxes for the past 5 years. He also said the call was being recorded and would be used against me in court. After 10min into the conversation he advised me that if i made a payment, the case would be removed from court and the warrant would be destroyed. He advised me that I would have to meet with an officer at the nearest 711 or Dollar Store for verification with my ID and $500 in cash to pay the officer. He gave me the address and said I would have to stay on the phone with him until i arrived at the location, upon my arrival I was to get out of the car, say Hello I'm here and wave my hand - the officer would then come to me and collect the information and money. Really? I told him i was on my way and would be there in 5min. He then advised me that if i disconnected the call an officer would be at my house waiting to arrest me, and a criminal lawyer would not be able to save me, all my possesions would be repossed by the government and I would not be able to find a job ever again. Please be very cautious of these scams, there are a lot of people falling for them. Don't even bother answering!

IRS Scam. Tired of these bottom feeders!!! The IRS does NOT call...the send mail!!!

Same IRS scam message, I called back and got a fake indian [***] and 2nd time I got a guy who hung up right after I told them I was homeland security and they are being investigated for domestic terrorism.  Try to frighten them. You can call this number back, but I think once they realize you know, they let he call ring ring, no voicemail for them, it looks like you can text them too.  Wish something can actually be done.
