Says he is calling about check fraud :(- Caller: Case closed investigations
- Harassed| 1 replySame scam, same hustle. An Aaron Rosenthal, Chief Investigator, left one message Thursday demanding a call back within 24 to 48-hours or it would result in an issuance. Called again on the Monday, same message. Claiming check fraud. This is a non-government collection agency attempting to extort through intimidation. Also called four family members leaving an identical message. I have a personal attorney who is looking into this matter.

- are you kidding me| 1 replygot a call from this same investigator with the same company with very accurate personal information about a 3 year old bank account. says he is investigating check fraud and something to do with theft. i also offer'd to pay it off and the [***] would not accept my money either who is this guy? he is obviously not with a collection agency

- He has no leg to stand on| 4 repliesI got a call today. He has been harassing my family for days. I have gotten a lawyer to represent me. I will go to any lengths possible to stop him. No one should have to endure his pestilence. He has NO rights to do anything. If he says he will issue a warrant for your arrest, hang up and call a lawyer, because what he is threatening is highly illegal. Protect yourself and your loved ones from him and get a lawyer.
- Caller: Aaron Rosenthal
- Call type: Debt collector
- Elspeth replies to are you kidding meIf you had written fraudulent checks, that bank and law enforcement would have contacted you a long time ago. Banks don't wait 3 years to charge someone with fraud. Unless you were going around, writing checks on accounts that you knew had no money in them, you wouldn't be charged with theft or fraud.
NEVER pay anyone money just because they say you owe this or you're in legal trouble for that. If he calls back again, demand that he send a debt validation letter proving you owe this debt to him. This is your right per the FDCPA (please read about the FDCPA and learn your rights as a consumer).
Also report the call to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General. Let the guy know that you have reported him and on the advice of your attorney (even if you don't have one), are recording all calls he makes to you (and do so if possible). If you really were in trouble with the law, police officers would just show up - they wouldn't make a song and dance and whole production out of letting you know beforehand. - are you kidding me| 10 repliesAdmin Edit: "It's a SUSPECT message!"

he told me that it was the check guarantor co. that was pursuing me and was assessing the probability of a warrant being issued in my name which i found out to be very real. it happens to be CROSS CHECK, UNINTED TRANS ACTIONS VANTAGE U.T.A the list goes on which are insurance company's to banks and merchants. its behind every counter and according to the law as long as they can prove criminal intent they are not governed by statues & limitations its not a collections issue oddly enough i also found out something else that was interesting banks have to keep a copy of every check on file for 7 to 10 years i also discovered that he is not governed by the F.D.C.P.A but by F.T.C- Caller: case closed investigations

i got a call today from family & friends about this same guy. i was a bit skeptikal after reading all these post i spoke with him and found it interesting he wouldn't take my money. i moved from the address they had on record and would have never written a check on a closed account although it could have been an oversight. spoke with a friend that is an attorney pertaining to this and was advised the check guarantee co. can pursue legally to recoup their loss as long as they can prove criminal intent! i do understand it is against the law to write a bad check what i don't understand is why they wait so long to pursue. thankfully i was ultimately afforded an oprotunity to resolve it voluntarily- Caller: 9202028226
- Elspeth replies to ernest holcombridge| 5 repliesInteresting. So you just went ahead and paid, even though you were not given a debt validation letter proving you do owe this? If you weren't sure that you did or did not write a check on a closed account, all you had to do was call the bank on which the check was drawn.
You should never pay anyone who says you owe a debt unless they can send you written proof you do owe that debt to them. - ernest holcombridge replies to Elspeth| 4 repliesAdmin Edit: "It's a SUSPECT message!"

Being that none of the regulars here have any need for more money, I guess it's good that scum like you have none to lend! There are no bigger deadbeats on this planet than the ones that work as bogus debt collectors!

Gunnar - Shill Alert replies to lmao| 60 repliesBut that's the beauty of your filthy scam isn't it? Most if not all of your victims never got a loan. But you still try to collect!
So it's back to the boiler room with you now. Maybe you'll find a sucker who isn't aware of your scam to help you fund your drug addiction for another day (or another few hours anyway).
